Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series is the twenty-fourth and current season of the Pokémon animated series, and the second season of Pokémon Journeys: The Series, known in Japan as Pocket Monsters (ポケットモンスター, Poketto Monsutā). The season premiered in Japan on December 11, 2020, on TV Tokyo.

In Canada, the season premiered on Teletoon in June 2021, and Télétoon in July 2021.[1] In the United States, it will be released as a streaming television season with its first 12 episodes set to premiere on September 10, 2021 on Netflix.[2] International distribution is scheduled for a summer 2021 release.[3] This season continues the research fellowship adventures of Ash Ketchum, Goh and Chloe Cerise, as they travel across all eight regions, including the new Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield and the Galar region's Crown Tundra from Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra, based at Cerise Laboratory in Vermillion City in the Kanto region.

At a Vermillion City research center studying Eevee, and Eevee tries to imitate different evolved Eevee without success. Seeing Chloe's Yamper walk by (it's out for a walk with Ash and Pikachu while Goh and Chloe are in school), it escapes from the center and follows Yamper, with whom it becomes friendly. When two lab assistants from the center chase after Eevee, Yamper leads it to Chloe's school, where Chloe spots them and enlists Go's help to block the assistants while she escapes with Eevee. Team Rocket, who's infiltrated the school disguised as students, attempt to steal all of the Pokémon in the school playground, including Goh's Cinderace and Sobble, and when Ash and Pikachu try to stop them they fall into Team Rocket's classic pit trap. Yamper leaps to Eevee's defence, but when its attack fails Eevee battles alongside it, imitating and using Yamper's electric attack, and Pikachu (who's climbed out of the pit) finishes up with a Thunderbolt. The head of the research facility comes to take Eevee back, but Eevee, who's become attached to Chloe (who feels the same way), runs back to her. With the head's approval, Eevee allows Chloe to catch it.

When they reach there, they encounter Cara Liss and Gasattsu who help them with their research. Also, a fossil restoration machine made by Cara Liss help them to restore the fossil Pokémon. Now how will the Pokémon react to their presence in a world that is different from their own?

Then, Ash and his Farfetch'd enter a World Coronation series battle against a burly man named Dozer with his Gurdurr and win. They also battle a trainer named Rinto with Gallade who beats them. Then, Ash decides to train his Farfetch'd to help him become a leek master.

He writes that he's been recently having trouble due to Diglett and Dugtrio ravaging his field, so Ash, Goh, and Chloe head to Endo's field to investigate why these Pokémon are doing this.

News has come in that it's at a certain lake for now and Goh instantly gets excited about the chance to get a legendary Pokémon. He and Ash instantly head to the lake where they see a group of evil Pokémon hunters and a Suicune trying to protect both the lake and the wild Pokémon despite being injured. Goh makes friends with Suicune.

They find out that it is run by none other than the member of the Kalos Elite Four, Wikstrom (otherwise called the Man of Steel). They are welcomed by Wikstrom and his partner Aegislash. They discover that they have to succeed in three tasks to win the Knight Medal. Ash, Farfetch'd and Goh with his Scyther participate and succeed in three tasks and win the Knight medal. In the end, Farfetch'd learn a new move and Scyther evolves into Scisor.

On a cold evening, Chloe comes to the Cerise Laboratory and finds out that Professor Cerise goes out and Ash and Goh head out to catch Ice-type Pokemon. So, Chrysa and Chloe spend a girl's night in Chrysa's apartment. Chloe accidentally looks at a photo of Chrysa and a Psyduck and its trainer. Chloe mistakes the trainer as Chrysa's boyfriend and later learns that the Psyduck helped Chrysa when she was in a bad mood. Meanwhile, Ash and Goh could not find any ice-type Pokemon. Disappointed, they head out to eat some food and unknowingly they find the mysterious trainer and its Psyduck. Then they tell Chloe about the mysterious trainer and its Psyduck, she confirms that it was the same trainer and his Psyduck Chrysa met years ago. They search for the trainer and his Psyduck and first could not find him. But later they find the trainer and his Psyduck and take him to Chrysa. A reunion happens between Chrysa and Psyduck and Chrysa's joy knew no bounds.

"A Rollicking Roll...": When a bunch of Gokulin start dispensing from Rocket-dan's Rocket Prize Master machine, a chaotic situation develops in Kuchiba City when the Gokulin start sticking to each other and various objects, forming a giant ball.

"Eyes on the Goal!": Nyarth and Sonans follow a Kamukame to a nearby playground where they encounter a Naetle that develops a rivalry with Kamukame. The two turtle Pokemon challenge each other to a race.

They meet Kairi, who has a Vaporeon, and Koharu's Eevee thinks of becoming a Vaporeon. The trio takes part in the competition, when Koharu, Eevee, and Goh's Dewgong become trapped in a cave after they are attacked by a Huntail. They are saved by Kairi and his Vaporeon. Afterwards, Kairi gives Koharu a Water Stone to give to her Eevee. Eevee decides not to evolve.

Later, Goh catches the Absol that was believed to be the suspect.

Satoshi and Go return to Unova. When they get to Soryu City, Go meets Iris, and Satoshi finds out that she became the Unova champion. Satoshi battles her for his World Coronation Series. During the battle, Satoshi sends out his Dragonite against Iris Dragonite but is quickly tired. Satoshi sends in his Dracovish and defeats Iris's Dragonite, but Iris's Haxorus (revealed to have evolved from Axew) defeats Dracovish. Satoshi sends his Dragonite back out. Just as it seems like Dragonite will lose, Iris supports Satoshi's Dragonite. Satoshi's Dragonite then gains confidence and learns Draco Meteor and defeats Iris's Haxorus. Satoshi's win brings his rank to 99, promoting him to the Hyper Class.

In Sakuragi's Park, Goh's Flabebe all evolve into Floette, or at least he thought until he notices that his white Flabebe is struggling to fly until he notices that one of its petals fell off. Goh decides he wants to search for a flower for his white Flabebe, both Satoshi and Goh head to the Kalos Region to search for one. While in Kalos, the boys started to searching for a flower but were unsuccessful. The next morning, the boys are alerted of a flower shop in Kalos, so they head over there while at the shop, the owner explains about her Florges and how it also lost its flower and where she found the flower. Satoshi and Go go to the area where the flower could be found, with no sign of a flower, the boys head back until the moon shines which reveals flowers hidden during daytime. Flabebe picks its flower and slowly evolves into Floette, which learns Grassy Terrain and spreads more of its flowers, Go realizes that Floette wants to stay and protects its flowers, so he releases his Floette.

They explain that they've come to check the Electric type Pokémon there as part of a search for the culprit of a series of electricity theft incidents that have taken place in Kuchiba City. And after suspecting a number of Electric type Pokémon there, including Wanpachi, they eventually arrest Pikachu for the crimes.

Ash and Goh return back to Pallet Town. Goh meets Professor Oak for the first time, while Ash greets his old Pokémon that he used in past regions. Professor Oak then tells Goh and Ash about Project Mew, a project that is looking for the Mythical Pokémon, Mew. Ash then realizes that Infernape is gone. Professor Oak then tells Ash that Infernape fought with Charzaird, Quilava, Pignite, and Talonflame. Ash and Goh go off to find Infernape. They then get attacked by a wild Onix, but Gary's Blastoise saves them. Ash greets Gary while Goh meets him for the first time. They then head to a mountain, where Infernape sees them and hugs Ash. Moltres then appears. Infernape uses Flamethrower on Moltres, which Moltres dodges. Infernape then tries to Mach Punch Moltres, but Moltres dodges, and Infernape is tired. Gary sends out Blastoise and Blastoise uses Hydro Pump, but Moltres dodges. Moltres then uses Burn up. Gary's Blastoise manages to withstand the hit, but is defeated after Moltres uses Air Slash on Gary's Blastoise. Gary then sends out his Electivire and Electivire and Pikachu uses an electric attack on Moltres. Moltres then flies away and drops one of its feathers, which Gary collects. A Corviknight then takes Gary's feather and flies away. They return back to Professor Oak's lab, where they meet a girl called Asahi, Gary says bye to Ash, while Goh decide to join Project Mew.

Satoshi and the others follow them, and discover that the hole led into a labyrinthic area. And when the Rocket Gang jump after them in their pursuit of Pikachu, things turn into a complete chase where everyone runs into each other....?!

Ash and Goh return back to the Galar region. On a faraway glacier where a lot of Eiscue live, an Eiscue floats away on a broken glacier and ends up in the Galar region. While Ash and Goh continue their research, they encounter a Galarian Stunfisk in which Goh catches. They later encounter Falinks who then attack a wild Boldore. Grookey makes the Falinks mad and they charge at Ash, Goh, Pikachu, and Grookey, but are attacked by Pikachu's thunderbolt. Ash and Goh pick up the hurt Falinks, and the leader gets depressed because they can't lead its group. The other Falinks in its group start to follow Pikachu. Goh decides to practice the leader Falink to lead its group by using his Pokémon to be in the group. The two groups then meet up and the leader Falink and Pikachu switch groups. The Falinks then see Eiscue and wants to battle it. Eiscue uses Icicle Spear, but the Falinks dodge the attack. The Falinks manage to headbutt Eiscue and its ice breaks. Eiscue runs away to get its ice back. The Fanlinks are happy that they won the battle, and allows Goh to catch them. At the end of the episode, Eiscue returns home where the other Eiscue live.

Satoshi and Go travel to the Sinnoh region to investigate after learning that people are unable to sleep due to nightmares. The two of them suspect that a Darkrai is causing the nightmares. On the other hand Koharu, who was so dejected as the family trip got canceled because Professor Cerise had to take care of eggs, traveled alone to Sinnoh and eventually meets Satoshi's former travelling companions, Hikari and Piplup. While walking in a forest, Koharu and Hikari encounter a frustrated Rhydon, which ends up attacking them. After Piplup uses Bubble Beam and gets hit by Rhydon's Horn Attack, Koharu's Eevee uses Copycat and copies Bubble Beam and defeats Rhydon. As Satoshi and Go continue their search for Darkrai, they realize that Cresselia is able to prevent nightmares caused by Darkrai. Meanwhile, Hikari and Koharu find an injured Cresselia.

While Satoshi and Go are searching for Darkrai, Hikari and Koharu help the injured Cresselia. Satoshi and Go see Darkrai and follow it, before Darkrai runs into Rocket Dan, in which Hikari and Koharu also encountered. While Darkrai battles Rocket Dan, Hikari, Cresselia, Koharu run away to a beach where they meet Satoshi and Go. After the four of them meet up, Rocket Dan and Matori arrive to capture Cresselia. Satoshi, Go, Hikari, and Koharu battle Rocket Dan, before Darkrai appears to defend Cresselia. Darkrai is weakened by an electric attack, whilst Satoshi, Go, Hikari, and Koharu are captured along with their Pokémon. Cresselia then floats into the air and uses Lunar Dance. Darkrai then uses Dark Void, which makes Rocket Dan go to sleep. After Rocket Dan is dealt with, Cresselia heals itself using Moonlight, and returns to Fullmoon Island, with Darkrai returning to Newmoon Island. The next day, Satoshi, Go, Hikari, and Koharu play at a beach with their Pokémon.
