Romel Oswaldo Morales Ramírez (born 23 August 1997) is a Colombian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. He currently plays for Malaysia Super League team Kuala Lumpur City.[1]
Club career
Previously he played for Argentinian club Banfield.[2]
Beginnings
He started a Churta-Millos soccer school in Bogota, then decided by his parents to head south of the continent where he initially arrives at the River Plate at 14 years of age with Eder Alvarez Balanta.
Banfield
In 2014 it reached Club Atlético Banfield (Argentina). On March 20, 2016, he made his professional debut in Banfield to replace Walter Erviti, against River Plate, for the eighth round of the 2016 First Division Championship, in a match played at the Antonio Vespucio Liberti Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires. It ended with parity from 1 to 1.1
PKNS FC
After 6 years in Argentine territory where he made his training process and subsequent debut in 2016 he decided to continue his career in Asia, more precisely in Malaysia, where he signed with PKNS FC.
He would make his debut on February 3, 2018, in a 2–2 draw against Terengganu FC, thus becoming the first Colombian in history to play in that Asian country.
Currently Romel Morales is considered one of the figures of the team and outstanding player of the soccer of Malaysia.
Melaka United FC
On 12 November 2019, Melaka United (MU) have announced signed Morales for the Malaysia League (M-League) next season.
