Sahaswan is a city and a municipal board in Badaun district in the Indian state of western Uttar Pradesh. Till 1853, Sahaswan was the headquarters of Budaun district.

As of 2011 India census,[1] Sahaswan had a population of 148,000. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sahaswan has an average literacy rate of 71%, lower than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 66%. In Sahaswan, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Pramod Inter College(http://www.pramodintercollege.com), Pannalal Inter College, Rajkiya Inter College are the famous inter colleges. D.P. Mahavidhyalaya is only one degree college in Sahaswan.

Culture

The people of Sahaswan are very found of watching cricket. khaita ram stadiam jahagirabad field is the only stadium here. They also known for their unity.The holy Sarsota is very famous temple. It has an ancient story.

Transport

By train

The nearest station is Ujhani, 30 km away from Sahawan and it is connected by meter gauge by Agra and Mathura up to Kasganj. In coming years, plans exist to develop a direct connection to Delhi by broad gauge.

By road

Lies on SH18 (Budaun-Delhi), it is just 180 km from Delhi, and 40 km from Budaun.
