Problem, 20th Century Fox and 20th Century Studios are two separate companies

It did appear that 20th Century Fox was renamed 20 Century Studios though it was still registered as Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and I was thinking the registration was going to be changed to Twentieth Century Studios Film Corporation at a later date. However, a new entity was created using the 20th Century Studios name, registered as 20th Century Studios, Inc. The registration of Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation has not changed. So now it appears that 20th Century Fox was not renamed to 20th Century Studios and instead do business under the 20th Century Studios name until Disney forms the actual 20th Century Studios company. So right now the 20th Century Studios name is being shared with 20th Century Fox (Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation) and the new entity being called 20th Century Studios (20th Century Studios, Inc.).

We can now establish the fact that 20th Century Studios, Inc. is 20th Century Studios and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation is 20th Century Fox, 20th Century Fox was not renamed to 20th Century Studios, it just did business under that name until Disney formed a new company called 20th Century Studios. I suspect that Disney would eventually absorb 20th Century Fox into 20th Century Studios at a later date. Right now 20th Century Fox and 20th Century Studios are doing business under the 20th Century Studios name, 20th Century Fox is a subsidiary of 20th Century Studios until it gets absorbed into 20th Century Studios. Note: The films that were made before the name change of 20th Century Fox into 20th Century Studios but not released yet will still be under the Fox title. Sgqiagsjwgquwgsyyahwgq (talk) 08:07, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To resolve this problem, these two separate legal company must merged to form Twentieth Century City Studios, LLC. with its trade name must restoring to its pre-merger with Fox Film Corporation name, 20th Century Pictures. AdhiOK (talk) 04:47, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

We follow reliable sources. You can make up facts like "it's a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox" or new fake companies like "Twentieth Century City Studios, LLC" or claiming the prior films will be released under "Fox", when we've all seen The Call of the Wild already using "20th Century Studios." As for the registration, having two different entries doesn't mean two different companies. A lot of times, the old name is kept active for copyrights reasons. They did the same thing when they renamed ABC, Inc. to Walt Disney Television, Inc. Likewise, ViacomCBS reuses the existing old Viacom legal entity while in reality, it is a new company and was in fact more of CBS acquiring Viacom. So, we don't follow those registrations blindly because they lack context. That's why we need reliable secondary sources, which confirm it's a rename. — Starforce13 13:53, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Two articles will solve it the same as Searchlight Pictures BLAZEGUY2007 (talk) 11:56, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's a good idea to make two different articles on what is still the same company just because the company's legal name or corporate form changed unless there is a compelling reason to do so. Aoi (青い) (talk) 16:45, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Or add more information that it's a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox since it is a subsidiary but both companies still have to be under the name 20th Century Studios. BLAZEGUY2007 (talk) 06:40, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

this sentence is wrong:

"On July 19, 2018, Comcast dropped out of the 21st Century Fox bid in favor of Sky plc and Sky UK and eight days later, Disney and 21st Century Fox shareholders approved the merger between the two companies."

That is wrong if you look at the source. There was no merger between the two companies, but Diney aquired assets from 21st century fox, including the movie assets but, for example, NOT FOX News. I read this atricle to find out if Fox News is now Owned by Disney. After reading this paragraph that showed that 21st century Fox merged with Disney, and looking at the Fox News Atricle that states that Fox News is owned by 21st Century Fox, my answer was "Yes". But that's wrong. Fox News stayed with 21st Century Fox, owned by Murdoch. So it is NOT true that 21st century Fox and Disney merged.

Unfortunately, I cannot edit it without an account.

Yours, Klaus

. No it is not wrong. Put it context with the paragraph and the main article: Acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney. 21st Century Fox spun off the new Fox Corporation (not 21st Century Fox) that has Fox News and other broadcast and cable assets as a part of the merger plan but before the merger of 21st Century Fox and Disney. Problem: Studios should get a new and separate article from Fox

20th Century Fox did not become 20th Century Studios. Fox was dissolved and the name and assets were assumed by a new entity named 20th Cebtury Studios.

Let’s split this and have two articles. One article for 20th Century Fox. One article for 20th Century Studios.

These are two separate companies. They are not the same entity. Mikeyfaces (talk) 11:25, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
