"Retirement"

Her latest managment have "retired" her due to her recent drunken performance in Serbia where she was booed off stage. Should this not be the current status rather of her career? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jacobsdad (talkcontribs) 18:37, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Find reliable sources that claim this happened Edkollin (talk) 19:08, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Found dead

She's been found dead, Sky News has confirmed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liquinn (talkcontribs) 16:27, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The mail has it too; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2018020/Amy-Winehouse-confirmed-dead.html 2.26.10.98 (talk) 16:38, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Damn near everyone has it now. Even TMZ has it on their front page, and we know they're legit. :| MFTU (talk) 16:46, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would point out that there is no referenced source to back up the statement that Amy Winehouse died from a "suspected drug overdose". The linked source only says that her death is "unexplained". 80.176.88.21 (talk) 17:12, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's like that jackass from Slipknot. There was a syringe and needle a foot from his body and a cartel's worth of drugs in a duffel bag, but they put on this facade as if there's still a chance that it's natural causes. Please. MFTU (talk) 17:18, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Protection

Why is this page protected? There's absolutely no need for it. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 16:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. No need to over zealously protect this page. User:matt.whitby

Semiprotection, surely? — Pretzels Hii! 16:35, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's pretty standard to full protect articles when it's a possible death. Pursey Talk | Contribs 16:36, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's protected to stop the page being a warzone as information is coming in. I am sure it will be a good candidate for unprotection in as little as a couple of hours (and it was already semi-protected, and unsourced stuff was being added). U-Mos (talk) 16:37, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Over-hasty protection prevented me from adding an RS. ~~##
It already was semi-protected. —Neuro (talk) 16:38, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see unprotecting it worked well. Apparently she's now dead AND the child of satan. Pursey Talk | Contribs 16:40, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Request for re-protection/locking? There's been a hell of a lot of editing in the past 10-15 minutes. Tb2571989 (talk)
"a lot of editing" is not reason to protect. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 16:44, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated my original full protection request to confirm I still support it. U-Mos (talk) 16:48, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lock article

Amy W is dead. Lock article due to vandalisim — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awoluser (talkcontribs) 16:40, 23 July 2011 (UTC) Bender — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.27.168 (talk) 16:42, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by vandalism? Like someone will vandalize her house if they read here that she is dead? Can you explain what you mean by that? Thanks so much and sorry for the inconvenience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.187.83.247 (talk) 16:49, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:VAND --DannyDaWriter (talk) 16:52, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism of the article. 72.191.112.164 (talk) 16:52, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As in her Wikipedia page might be vandalised by speculative Wikitroublemakers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.25.154.246 (talk) 16:53, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Source of Death

SkyNews

It's apparently getting a lot of attention - I can't even load the article, but the preview in a Google search for "skynews amy winehouse" tells me they're confirming it. CycloneGU (talk) 16:41, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's on Sky News on the TV. Daily Mail confirms it too. BigDom 16:43, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
From the BBC: [1] Colds7ream (talk) 16:48, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
CNN now has posted the breaking news update. Not that we need another source. No story from CNN yet. CycloneGU (talk) 17:01, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody with a really fast connection merge the Daily Mail references. There has been too many edit conflicts for me to proceed any further. --Addict 2006 16:47, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't even try. I merely comment from the sidelines. =) CycloneGU (talk) 17:14, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page should be edited to remove suspected drug overdose. Linked article makes NO mention of overdose. Saying it's a suspected overdose is purely opinion.

News sources state it. We can source it, we can say it. CycloneGU (talk) 17:14, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from 109.145.172.12, 23 July 2011

Remove the vandalism/trolling from the top of the page.

Time of Death?

The article states that the time of death was 4 pm local time or 1600 GMT. Currently, Britain is on Summer Time, so 4 pm local time would be 1500 GMT. Or if she died at 1600 GMT the local time would be 5 pm. Can someone please fix this as soon as the actual time of death is ascertained?109.58.98.197 (talk) 17:19, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
