First?
The "first search engine ever invented"? In 1990? Doubtful.
The first *Internet* search engine ever invented? Perhaps, but seems unlikely.
- According to PC Magazine, it was the first. Fanra 03:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Do we really need a full description of all the characters of a comic which is only slightly related? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.144.94.150 (talk) 02:25, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
I've just listened to a radio interview with the guy who created this (BBC Radio 4- should be a podcast) and he's said that it had "nothing to do with the cartoon character". It was simply archive without the v. I'm going to remove the offending passage. 94.195.5.216 (talk) 09:47, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- I concur but I think it should be mentioned as a common misapprehension - the article comment was unreferenced in any case. -- John (Daytona2 · Talk · Contribs) 09:59, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
"Archie, in the current day is a well known term used by Chester University Professor, Graham Logan." What the heck does that mean? Seaniekaye (talk) 16:31, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- Seems to be "funny" and has been reverted Sereghir (talk) 15:13, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Didn't Alan's creation have a Greek server in TTToronto.nnn? PS (not Pavel Schilling): http://177.4.61.69 (talk) 21:32, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Current status (2024)
The archie server in Poland was closed down last year. A new server was setup in early 2024 at hobbes.serialport.org and is accessible via a web interface at https://archie.serialport.org/ , instead of the original telnet interface. SV1XV (talk) 10:00, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
