Promotion

[edit]

Wikipedia articles do not exist to promote schools. External links are inappropriate in the article body (see WP:EL). We also minimize, not maximize the number of links (see WP:OFFICIAL). Wikipedia is not a web directory. The school's website is expected to provide links to all of its own programs. Therefore Wikipedia does not, we list a single official link and let the school promote its programs on its website as it wills. Yworo (talk) 18:05, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This page seems to contain a pastiche of content that is also published in official sources. For a few examples:

[3] The Master of Arts (MA) program in Business Economics applies economic principles to business problems, strategic planning, international trade and finance and the problems of macroeconomic policy making. There are other examples as well.

Needed to be more accurate, with more citations

[edit]

At least two of us are working to make this into a true Wikipedia article that is not a promo for the School. Absolute accuracy and more citations are helping, I believe.

e.g.: They do not offer a BBA. Only an HONOURS BBA; corrected and added citation. Peter K Burian 14:10, 23 December 2015 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Peter_K_Burian

@Peter K Burian: Hey, thanks for editing this article. I was just editing the article cause it was kinda outdated and needed some fixes here and there, I have not intention of being a major editor for this article, just a passerby. I went to a different uni, not WLU like you, so don't know much. If you go to [4] and hover over BBTM (business technology management), you can see it is still administered by the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, even though it is in Brantford and not at its main campus, same applies for the MBA in Toronto. Same as [5] (the faculty website for the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics) it includes the Brantford BBTM and Torotno programs. Finally, I do agree with you, that we need to be more information that is cited and reliable, I find that many Canadian b-school's articles are poor and more like promotional content rather than something to document the history of the program and the significance. ///EuroCarGT 19:56, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Locations of the School

[edit]

I was sure there was only the Kitchener-Waterloo location, and perhaps Toronto, but their web site calls Brantford a location as well; surprising since there is only one business course that is available in Brantford. https://www.wlu.ca/lazaridis-school-of-business-and-economics/about/index.html Peter K Burian (talk) 21:12, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
