The result of the debate was Move. The current dab page will be deleted. —Wknight94 (talk) 03:22, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

Marc Bell IIMarc Bell – Why is he "Marc Bell II"? I've seen no evidence of this name in his artwork and bios, just "Marc Bell". I fear that this article name is spreading misinformation.

Discussion

Also, the page Marc Bell is currently filled with a somewhat non-disambig page for Marky Ramone. This could have a "For the drummer for The Ramones, see Marky Ramone" blurb at the top to redirect that crowd.

I suspect that the original article creator did not know how to disambiguate correctly when Marc Bell already existed; I see that this user also created Doug Wright II. Should definitely be moved. HollyAm 22:15, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Excatly my suspicion ... thanks for clearing this up!

Conclusion

To the administrator: this page was originally named "Marc Bell II", since the "Marc Bell" namespace was taken for "Marky Ramone", and this is how the original author thought this is how pages could be disambiguated from each other, and further thinking that the cartoonist/artist "Marc Bell" is "Marc Bell II", when he is not.
Later, the original "Marc Bell" page with Marky Ramone was moved into the Marky Ramone namespace, and making the Marc Bell into a redirect. I modified this into a disambig page, however, I should have requested this move at that time. Since I made Marc Bell into a disambig page, please delete it, since it is unnecessary, and move this page there. Thanks.
