– The politician has not held public office since losing his US senate seat in 2012. Page views at "Scott Brown", not all of which will relate to the politician, now average below 1,000 per day. Scott Brown (footballer, born June 1985) (the best known footballer by this name) has around 500 views per day. I don't think it is justifiable to give the politician priority over all other Scott Browns put together. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 13:52, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Inclusion of Northeastern U

I see nothing that would prevent us from listing his ROTC experience at Northeastern University. It is part of his education. This field is not exclusively about degrees, it is about the subject's educational history. Elizium23 (talk) 04:08, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I certainly believe that ROTC classes are fine for a brief mention in the body. However, some things just don't need to be in the infobox. While he took ROTC classes (how many?) at Northwestern, that doesn't mean he was ever formally enrolled. It wasn't a degree program, and "ROTC" is not a degree. While the eduction section is meant to [describe] the subject's educational history, that doesn't mean every little detail needs to be included in the infobox. High schools and high school diplomas, for example, aren't listed. Associate degrees, trade schools, and certificate programs are often left out. In this case, ROTC classes do not belong in the infobox. The "education" field is general, yes, but it is primarily used for colleges/universities and degrees earned. To include ROTC next to BA and JD as if it was another degree is not correct. One thing is not like the other. KidAd talk 04:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How old?

I see reference to being age 12 and appearing before Judge Zoll, but the provided reference says:
"It’s unclear exactly how old Brown was when he was arrested. In the book, Brown says it was the summer of 1973, making him 13, but Zoll didn’t take over the Salem court until 1974, when Brown would have been 14." Carlm0404 (talk) 07:23, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When originally added to the article, this information was given as "13 or 14" for the age. This lasted until June 2013 when an IP editor changed it to "12" without comment. I've restored the original, per the source. —ADavidB 10:21, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
