Semi-protected edit request on 21 April 2018

The quotation of Eusebius concerning Heraclas is wrong. τοῦτον ἐγὼ τὸν κανόνα καὶ τὸν τύπον παρὰ τοῦ μακαρίου πάπα ἡμῶν Ἡρακλᾶ παρέλαβον is from Historia Ecclesiastica, VII, 7,4 and not 7,7 as quoted in the footnote. Kyrieevlogison (talk) 11:36, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 18:04, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Eligibility

Currently, the article says that "any baptized Catholic male can be pope." That's not quite correct. For example, a widow who has remarried cannot be made a bishop, therefore, he cannot become pope. The correction should be something like, "any baptized Catholic male capable of becoming a bishop can be pope." Of course, then baptized, Catholic, and male become redundant. 2607:FCC8:B3C5:8400:DC20:1D7C:F3EE:33D1 (talk) 04:03, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

Hello, There is a mistake under Politics of the Holy See > Residence and jurisdiction. The current cardinal vicar is Angelo De Donatis, not Agostino Vallini. Cardinal Vallini resigned (age) in May 2017 and was replaced by Archbishop (now Cardinal) De Donatis.137.205.1.105 (talk) 20:26, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Position within the Church

I had to edit this paragraph to make it more coherent. It made declaratory statements such as "The New Testament offers no proof that Jesus established the papacy" which is out of step with the rest of the article, and obviously highly disputed. It seemed it was edited by someone who linked to fundamentalist websites and hasn't edited any other articles.
