Tarok Kalache was taken over by the Taliban on July 31, 2010 and used as an insurgent command and control node. The people of the village were forced to evacuate by the Taliban due to an impending battle between them and US Forces. After 3 months of fighting the Taliban Sanctuary was destroyed on 6 Oct 10 by US forces due to the large volume of impovised explosive devices, home made explosives and house borne munitions designed to kill US and Afghan forces. As of April 1, 2011, US forces in concert with the Afghan government have completed a new mosque for the people of the village in addition to 5 new homes under contruction. It is expected that the village rebuild will be complete in June 2011

Tarok Kolache is (was) a small settlement in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.[1][2]
