  • Currently listening to "Everything" by Lifehouse (I love how that sounds like I'm listening to, everything by Lifehouse) ;-)
  • Bible Study was splendid last night (and I always find it encouraging to hear about how God is working in the lives of others)... I'm babysitting tonight, my parents are going to Romano's Macaroni Grill to celebrate their anniversary, and unbeknownst to my Mom, they're not coming home until tomorrow, so, we g i rls should have an enjoyable evening together. :-) ;-)
  • Quite a full weekend... the MacArthur thing was amazing! Church was great (Pastor's sermons have been SO good lately...) and Bible Study was excellent!! And today I don't have to work, and my voice class was just canceled (I do like voice class, but I needed a break)...*is a happy Ingrid* :-)

(Wait Until Dark is on my list of must-watch movies... my Mom has shared memories or watching it with her brother years ago... sounds excellent!)

  • Humanities CLEP was the first one I took... one of my favorite resources was: "The Annotated Mona Lisa: a crash course in art history from prehistoric to post-modern" by Carol Strickland which is at the Brookfield Library (this helped with the art questions obviously, but also with the architecture ones...)... the music questions were super easy like "What is 'tempo'?"... (for the life of me I can't remember if there were any music history questions... if there were, they were probably just about the major composers of the four periods of music history...but I can't remember if there were any like that...)I think I slid by on previous knowledge as far as the film questions are concerned... sites like "Sparknotes" are good for literature questions: [1] (sparknotes also has sections on Poetry and Drama)....
  • I was in a skit for the 3rd-6th grade Sunday school class yesterday, I played a "monkey-hunter"...lol...it was quite amusing... My family and I went to our neighbors' to watch the Superbowl, this was the first Superbowl I ever saw, actually the first football game that I ever saw more than a few minutes of... of course I knew nothing about what was going on, so I had my Mom (she used to watch quite a bit of football with her 5 brothers) explain it all to me, and after that it was a lot of fun!!!! (Especially since the Colts won... we were "rooting" for them...) I seriously really enjoyed it, I never realized before how fun football was if you knew (sort of) what was going on! Anyway, I don't have to work today, but last time I checked, my car wasn't starting... oh, well... :-)
  • Had random and wacky evening with some old friends yesterday... got oodles of fun pictures, which I'll hopefully upload somewhere later... This afternoon I got my first (future) job as a real musician... :-) Some people in my neighborhood are hiring me to accompany (on the piano) their daughters at a WSMA recital thing in March. So that will be cool, but frightening.... :-)
  • My six-year old piano student yesterday, was very excited about "Ground Frog's" Day (as she called it,) I'm a little puzzled... I wonder how they get the Ground Frog to look for his shadow instead of hopping off....? ;-)
  • I don't know what got into me this week... I got a myspace and a Facebook (my Dad started that, by getting on and inviting me...lol...) not that I intend to spend a lot of time on either, but it seems to be a good way to keep in touch with people.... Anyway...I've had a pretty crazy week... not working on Tuesday, and then going to work early Wednesday, and then having my car not start when I was supposed to leave work...(I got it to start all by myself with help from the manual... :-) )

Anyway! I'm off to piano shortly, after which I have to teach and then rush off with my family for a movie night....(me want to stay home)...*wimpers*.... lol...

  • I just went to the library... got How to talk to a Liberal (if you must) (Ann Coulter), The Princess Bride (the book), mmhmm the Relient K CD and Blink (Ted Dekker)... should be fun. :-)
  • I'm looking into getting an iPod nano (Pink of course!) I can afford it, I'm just trying to justify it to myself now...lol...if I could get it to work with my car I could totally justify it, because I spend a minimum of 6 hours driving each week, so it would be great to not have to listen to the same CD over and over.... anyway....(plus oneplace.com has great John MacArthur sermons...)

AND I could carry my favorite pictures around with me... I think I'm justifying it as I type... ;-)

  • Church and Sunday School were great... Bible Study was interesting... several people nearly came to "blows" (well not really, but it was tense for several minutes) over the meaning of a word in the passage we were studying, it was quite intriguing to watch, but I must confess I also enjoy/prefer calmer, less tension-filled studies...(or friendly discussions) :-) Anyway, I am currently trying to see if I can study enough US history to take the CLEP this Thursday... it's rather soon to say yet though...
  • My copy of Malchus has arrived... I'm forcing myself to not read it yet since I want something interesting to read during my 17+ hours of travel time waaaay later this year in June, and would rather keep myself from such an amazing book until said month, so I can get airplane-sick while reading.... so I've hidden it out of my sight... lol...and although I really want to read it, it will be good for me to exercise some self-control, because all those hours in airports and on planes are going to be less than exciting-- but with a good book!
  • After Christmas the lady we stayed with gave me a Relient K CD (Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek) because she didn't like it (lol).... so I've been having fun getting acquainted with it, not exactly what I'm used to, but fun. :-)

It was the best Bible study I've been to in awhile... (I'm really liking the study of Hebrews too... what an amazing book!!)

  • I ordered Malchus (by W.G. Griffiths) today... it's been on my "to read" list for quite a while now...
  • I started a "read-through-the-Bible-in-2-years" Bible reading plan yesterday... The last time I read through the whole Bible it took me like 5 years (*ashamed*) But I've tried one year plans and (sadly) failed... so I'm determined to make this one work.
  • We got our flight itinerary yesterday for our June trip to Utah... we're going to see relatives on my Mom's side (most of whom we've never met...) it looks like we'll have 16 hours of travel time total... I'm going to have to find a lot of reading material... :-)

Anyway... :-}
