I am on other sites besides this one, but with different usernames such as the Linkifier, Wyctioped, and Some What. I began here with IP edits, correcting typos, linking, etc. I don't do much more than that in the article namespace.

My opinion on the infinite monkey theorem

Let's say a monkey is in the process of rewriting a fairy tale. There is a chance that the monkey will do it correctly all the way up to "and they all lived happily ever after." However, the chances that the monkey will mess up on the last word are 312,499,999 times higher. It might be something like "and they all lived happily ever asdfpheoihwu" or "and they all lived happily ever quwhepfouydsmg."

If the monkey is very lucky, he might type the wrong word, rather than total nonsense, for example, "and they all lived happily ever before" or "and they all lived happily ever sauerkraut." But the monkey would not be as lucky in doing that as he would be if he actually finished with the word "after."

The monkey could type up the Harry Potter series. He would be much more likely to create an alternate ending for the seventh book. He would be much more likely than that to make the seventh book something similar to "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously." He would be much more likely than that to make the seventh book a bunch of random words. He would be much more likely than that to make the seventh book random letters.

The monkey might type up most of a bestseller and then leave everybody in suspense about its ending. It's INCREDIBLY unlikely, but nowhere near as unlikely as the monkey actually finishing the bestseller.

The infinite monkey theorem can also be applied to the monkey's actions. There are a certain number of things the monkey could do to get the bestseller published. There is a certain probability that one of these things will happen. Imagine: John and the Magic Gateway by this random monkey who was at the typewriter. There is also, therefore, a chance of the monkey getting to the typewriter without being placed there. So, we can expect that if the universe goes on forever, a bestseller will be written by a monkey one day.

A general statement about country/city articles on Wikipedia

I have looked at many country and city pages here, and it has sometimes been hard to get a straight "answer" from them. I can go to a page on any gigantic world city, for example, Tokyo, and look for a population figure, and after looking around a bit, the basic message I get is something like, "Well, in just the special wards of Tokyo there are nine million people, but in the whole prefecture there are thirteen million people, but if you count the entire Greater Tokyo Area, you get 35 million. You want only Western Tokyo and not the islands? Well, there isn't a figure for that in this encyclopedia, but you're free to laboriously go to each of the 26 cities, and add each of their population figures to that of the Nishitama district, but perhaps you'd rather subtract all of the islands from the prefecture figure..." You get the point. It's complex.

Also, the population figures for countries do not seem to match up. For example, the Georgia population figure doesn't include parts of Abkhazia and South Ossetia not controlled by the Georgian government, but I can't tell where to find the figure which only includes parts of Abkhazia and South Ossetia not controlled by the Georgian government. They are only parts of Abkhazia, so the region's population figure doesn't work.

I think that the population figures on Wikipedia should be more straightforward, rather than getting messy across disputed boundaries, and making it unclear on a city's page what the population of the "actual city" is, or the area most likely to be thought of as a city.
