==Retirement from editing==
I'm done. Finished. Kaput. Tired of all the bullshit of policies and guidelines not being followed with respect to articles that shouldn't be here in the first place. I am requesting that my talk page be locked so no further editing can be done. [[User:ArcAngel|<span style='color: #ffb612;background-color: #1e1e1e;'><b>&nbsp;&nbsp;ArcAngel&nbsp;&nbsp;</b></span>]] [[User talk:ArcAngel|(talk)]] 23:53, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}}. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to ''you'' in particular.<p>The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when [[Wikipedia:Spotting possible copyright violations|hallmarks of copyvios]] in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.<p>If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied ''from the draft'', rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the [https://archive.org/web/ Wayback Machine] is very useful for sussing that out.)<p>If you do find a copyright violation, please ''do not'' decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using <nowiki>{{db-g12|url=</nowiki><tt>URL of source</tt>}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with <nowiki>{{subst:copyvio|url=</nowiki><tt>URL of source</tt>}}.<p>Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with [[WP:WEASEL|weasel words]]; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.<p> I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--[[User:Fuhghettaboutit|Fuhghettaboutit]] ([[User talk:Fuhghettaboutit#top|talk]]) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Sent via--[[User:MediaWiki message delivery|MediaWiki message delivery]] ([[User talk:MediaWiki message delivery|talk]]) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Hello ArcAngel. It has been over six months since you last edited your [[WP:AFC]] draft article submission, entitled "[[Draft:James Leishman|James Leishman]]".

==AFDs==
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply {{edit|Draft:James Leishman|edit the submission}} and remove the {{tlc|db-afc}} or {{tlc|db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia [[WP:mainspace|mainspace]].
Hello, ArcAngel,

Thank you for relisting AFD discussions when they are unresolved and it is appropriate to do so. Lately, there have been fewer participants and patrolling admins going through AFD discussions (summer vacations?) and I get concerned when I'm the only editor who is doing the relisting. It's nice to see other editors like you and CycloneYoris helping out. If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at [[WP:REFUND/G13]], ''or'' 2) copy this code: <code><nowiki>{{subst:Refund/G13|</nowiki>Draft:James Leishman<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>, paste it in the edit box at <span class="plainlinks">[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Requests_for_undeletion&action=edit&section=new this link]</span>, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Hello, ArcAngel,

FYI, you draftified this article because you state it had been declined at AFC but I looked at the page history and didn't see that it had ever been declined. In fact there is an edit summary that states it "completed AFC". And even if it had been declined by an AFC reviewer, the page creator can still move it to main space (although it's not advised) unless there is a COI or paid editing involved or the article had been previously deleted at an AFD. It's recommended that editors use AFC but that is just so they are given ample time to work on an article and make it unlikely it will be tagged for deletion...but AFC is not mandatory for anyone but paid editors. <span style="font-family:Papyrus; color:#800080;">[[User:Liz|'''''L'''''iz]]</span> [[Special:Contributions/Liz|'''''Read!''''']] [[User talk:Liz|'''''Talk!''''']] 02:50, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, {{Noping|Jim Cartar}} came to my user talk page and said he [[User talk:Technical 13/2014/1#Need some help|needed some help]] in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page ([[Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Orphanage/Archive_2#BackLog_Drive_.22DO.22_.28De-Orphaning.29_script_proposal|BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal]]) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as {{Noping|Manishearth}}'s [[User:Manishearth/OrphanTabs|OrphanTabs]]) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.

:Sorry if I caused any undue workload. I am trying to get more involved and thought that I would try clearing the backlog at Category:AfC_topic_used_in_wrong_namespace. Apparently I still have a lot of Wiki-learning to do. [[User:ArcAngel|<span style='color: #ffb612;background-color: #1e1e1e;'><b>&nbsp;&nbsp;ArcAngel&nbsp;&nbsp;</b></span>]] [[User talk:ArcAngel|(talk)]] 04:43, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.

Thank you for your concern about that film. However there is a strong consensus that a film with 2 reviews may be considered rather notable, specially when it received other coverage (such as the article in ''[[The Hindu]]''). I mentioned this in a precedent edit summary. I am therefore removing the tag(s) again. Should you disagree, feel free to take the page to Deletion discussion. Thank you. Also please note, as another user has mentioned on another page, that '''one''' notability tag is enough.
