[[pt:Usuário:Rei-bot|Rei-bot]] has been translating towns created by [[User:Ganeshbot]] into [http://pt.wikipedia.org Porteugese]. The amazing thing is they used [[WP:AWB|AWB]] to do it. They have global [[pt:Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Settings/Índia|settings]] in AWB for translations. This is a [http://pt.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Usu%C3%A1rio_Discuss%C3%A3o:Rei-artur&oldid=2676285#.C3.8Dndia link] to the discussion there. :Excellent! You've seeded a substantial Indian presence that is absolutely inclusive too (per [[pt:Ettayapuram]]) on the multilingual web, all out of almost a single document. You (we) never know how big the harvest would be! Kudos to you. (By the way, I've granted bot access to Ganeshbot in Tamil Wiki.) -- [[User:Sundar|Sundar]] \[[User talk:Sundar|talk]] \[[Special:Contributions/Sundar|contribs]] 12:02, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Ancient India stubs

There are a large number of stubs relating to ancient India. Can we have a stub category for them for better management and organisation of such pages .There are such stubs for Rome, Egypt and Greece .Category:Ancient Greece stubs Category:Ancient Rome stubs Category:Ancient Egypt stubs. Can an experienced editor create/organise one ? --Shyamsunder 10:20, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Economy of India

Economy of India is up for a featured article review. Detailed concerns may be found here. Please leave your comments and help us address and maintain this article's featured quality. Sandy 03:21, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Useful new template

I just thought everyone would like the new {{indichelp}} template. Please use this on a user's talk page when they edit Indic text without enabling complex text support. Everyone knows that these users are simply trying to be helpful, and I'm sure they'd appreciate this tip. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 22:56, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice one.. thanks. -- Lost 02:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Sukh. I have required this in the past and had to do with a lot manual typing. Just what I needed. One minor change can be incorporated. As this is just one time editing, we don't need to write the short-form (WP:COMPLEX), and we should preferably use the full article name. What do you think? — Ambuj Saxena (talk) 06:21, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review

Peer review department has a new request, Gulzar. I request everyone to please contribute to it and make the peer review process useful. This would be a first level peer-review by India project members before submission to the main peer review. - Ganeshk (talk) 23:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar article location

Input is desired on the best solution for the location for the article(s) covering Hindi/Urdu/Hindustani grammar. Thanks all. - Taxman Talk 05:00, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea whether Official Website of Shree Vallabhacharyaji Third Seat of Pushtimarg - Kankroli is an Hinduism essay or biography, or something else altogether. Perhaps some Indian editor can comment at its AfD. Kimchi.sg 15:40, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request to admins : Shiv Sena, Subhash Bose et. al

Can an admin keep track of User:Subhash bose and the articles that he is involved in especially Shiv Sena. There is plenty of mud-slinging happening there, by and towards him. Tintin (talk) 10:53, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help with translations

I'm currently working on a script intended to create short articles on political parties on a variety of wikipedias simultaneously. However, in order for the technique to work I need help with translations to various languages. If you know any of the languages listed at User:Soman/Lang-Help, then please help by filling in the blanks. Indian languages includes Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Urdu. Thanks, --Soman 12:11, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Intervention needed: User:Mahawiki

Mahawiki (talk · contribs), whose constructive (non-deletion, non-revertion) contribution to Wikipedia consists of not much more than this, surfaces every week or so to troll the same 3-4 pages. He removes "Kannadi vandalism," being all mention of the Mahajan Commission Report and of the existance of Kannada people in towns on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border. I have repeatedly asked him not to use the pejorative "Kannadi" and reasoned with him repeatedly on content (for instance here, here, here) to no avail, and now we have a call-to-arms from him. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, just very very POV, so I am hoping that if someone else (with no "Kannadi" connections) reasons with him, there may be good effect. I do not feel up to taking up another such issue. Please help. ImpuMozhi 12:49, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Supreme Court judgment details

Can someone answer this, please ? -- Sundar \talk \contribs 14:39, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It needs some help. The Jainism section is pretty poor.--D-Boy 20:38, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Look who's coming...

Perhaps its outdated news, but - Jimbo is coming to India!! -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK13:17, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I found that long back from User:Jimbo Wales's userpage. — Ambuj Saxena (talk) 13:48, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
We can try to arrange a meeting of wikipedians in Bangalore/Delhi with him. Since I've had some "official" correspondence with him in the past, I've emailed him asking if he has some time to spare. (After the edit conflict with Ambuj, I realise it may be premature.) -- Sundar \talk \contribs 13:52, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Where's Delhi on the list? I couldn't find it (and I'm in Delhi). --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 14:31, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He says it in the link provided by Deepu -- Lost(talk) 14:48, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A meting would be nice. Even if many of us may not make it to Delhi or Bangalore, at least some may manage to meet.We can ask him on his itinerary, when he is coming to Delhi.--Dwaipayan (talk) 11:26, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting stuff

Rei-bot has been translating towns created by User:Ganeshbot into Porteugese. The amazing thing is they used AWB to do it. They have global settings in AWB for translations. This is a link to the discussion there. This is for Sundar, check out pt:Ettayapuram in Porteugese. Pretty cool. :)- Ganeshk (talk) 17:42, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
