Greater London

Letting you know that I have made some changes to the lead that shouldn't be contraversial but I might have left the section a bit long because of not wanting to remove any of the original information from that section.

Ceremonial Counties

I also removed the description of the Greater London Lieutenancy as a ceremonial county. I am not wanting to stop WP calling the region this as it is useful for the sidebars but GL is still not technically a county. There is not common usage of this term for GLL and the only sources I could find to support the claim at all used the term because of WP. Therefore this claim should not go into the lead unless there is a change in status. Tetron76 (talk) 18:20, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedian in Residence - British Library

Hi all!

I've just started as the Wikipedian in Residence at the British Library; I'll be here for six months, until the end of October. I'm still in the process of settling in and meeting with people here to discuss possible projects, but if you've any suggestions for collaboration, please do let me know.

We've currently got two events in the calendar:

• World War I Editathon, 16 June - organised jointly with JISC
• GLAM-WIKI 2012, 14-15 September - conference hosted by WMUK and the British Library

and I hope we'll be able to organise more community events this summer along the lines of the past backstage tours and editing sessions. If you'd like to be notified about further developments, either drop me an email or sign up to the participants list here.

Infobox image for London article

A discussion is underway on the talkpage of the main London article concerning the infobox image montage. Surprisingly at present only myself and one other editor are participating. It would be good to have some other editors' input. Rangoon11 (talk) 21:14, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
