"Zong (Pakistani mobile operator)" is not ambiguous – Zong (Pakistani mobile operator) redirects to Zong (mobile network). "Zong mobile payments" is not ambiguous – Zong mobile payments redirects to Zong (payments provider). Delete both (not properly eligible for WP:G14). Retarget to Sports league; I was looking for an article on the general concept of football leagues, not one specific instance of one. The uppercase version Football League can continue to point to the current target, and I also created redirects at Association football league and Association football leagues. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:37, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This looks like an acronym for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia but its expansion doesn't exist as a redirect, the acronym is not mentioned in the target article, it's unused, it seems a fair bit contrived, and I can't find any real usage in a cursory Google Books search other than as part of TFYR Macedonia which is handled by a separate redirect. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:24, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Similarly to TFYRM, it appears in various dictionaries online, and there's at least one usage by WHO on the first page of the result. I don't think it should be deleted for the same reason, unless the page name is needed for a more established acronym down the line. --Antondimak (talk) 07:37, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, where exactly? The WHO link you added doesn't seem to include it in the first page, at least I don't see it, the title on the first page clearly says "THE FORMER YUGOSLAV REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA" and there's an instance of "the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" in a paragraph, but no "TFYR" anywhere. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 08:20, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It could also be noted that this is actually ambiguous - there's several other countries that qualify for the moniker "the former Yugoslav republic". --Joy [shallot] (talk) 17:17, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's on the title. There are also theoretically many countries that qualify for the moniker "the Republic of Macedonia", but we use it to refer to a single one. --Antondimak (talk) 07:02, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not on the title. Where are you looking at exactly on that first page? It's spelled out with uppercase and a large font. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 07:17, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's on the title of the page, displayed on the browser tab (also the name of the document if that matters at all). --Antondimak (talk) 22:37, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The file name of the PDF file used to relay a source is not really relevant to the consideration of source material. If the file was was called "Macedonia-MKD.1.WHO.pdf", we wouldn't care to apply all that to the encyclopedia. Likewise, this argument is about a partial title match, since the file name is "Macedonia-TFYR-country-profile.pdf", hence it's not just TFYR but indeed it's paired with the term "Macedonia", so this redirect is not necessary to explain anything. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:49, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: Delete or retarget? Also, apart from the WHO discussion, appearances in the various dictionaries online have not been discussed.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Jay 💬 07:51, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Jay that's because I couldn't verify that claim, either. A quick google search finds me [1] and [2] neither of which indicate a single meaning, hence the redirect is inappropriate even if we take these sources at face value in deciding on encyclopedia content. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 03:09, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Without an "M" or "Macedonia" this is ambiguous, or meaningless. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 21:34, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Seems unlikely that anyone is searching "TFYR" looking for information on the breakup of Yugoslavia, so redirecting is unlikely to be useful. Has apparently only had 225 pageviews since 2015, or less than one every ten days. Most likely scenario I can imagine is that someone sees the phrase "TFYR Macedonia" and searches to find out what TFYR stands for – in which case the search function will bring them to North Macedonia anyway. The result of the discussion was retarget to Disinformation in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine#Delegitimization of Ukraine as a nation and state. Refined current target to newly created section. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 23:29, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand why this redirects here - "Kyiv regime" (or "Kiev regime", as pro-Russian English-language sources still call it) is a propaganda term used by Russia against Ukraine during the war.... But the redirected page does not really discuss the term in detail and a reader who is looking up this as a term they are unaware of is unlikely to find any information in the redirect. I suggest this is deleted, or redirected to a page that discusses the term (if this exists on Wikipedia). QueenofBithynia (talk) 20:20, 25 October 2022 (UTC) (Nota bene Blocked sockpuppet of AFreshStart)[reply]

Thank you for notifying me of the Kyiv junta redirect: I think it should be included in the deletion discussion, whatever the outcome.
I would not object to these redirects if the terms were explicitly discussed in their target articles (i.e. "in Russian propaganda, the term Kyiv junta is used to..."). But as they're not, the redirects don't make much sense to anyone who doesn't already understand the use of the terms, which doesn't seem encyclopedic IMO. – QueenofBithynia (talk) 17:12, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

I’ve created a section for linking at Disinformation in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine#Delegitimization of Ukraine as a nation and state. I suggest we redirect both of these and (speedy?) close this discussion, as the lack of redirect target that led to this RFD no longer exists. —Michael Z. 23:59, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is the English translation of the Hebrew title of the episode "Prehibernation Week" ("מחפשים את ספוגבוב"), but SpongeBob doesn't have a connection to Hebrew. Plus, these pages haven't gotten very many pageviews since they were created on April 3, 2015. Regards, SONIC678 05:28, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. The average SpongeBob viewer has no idea what "Looking for SpongeBob" could possibly refer to (it could just as easily redirect to Whatever Happened to SpongeBob?), and there's a chance that a future episode of the show will be given that title. If that happens, we can recreate the redirect and link it to a "SpongeBob SquarePants (season xx) article, but until then, this redirect is WP:COSTLY. MightyArms (talk) 18:27, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete English language readers are not going to be looking up English translation of foreign language episode titles of American TV shows and they goes double here since the foreign language title isn’t remotely similar to the original.--65.92.162.81 (talk) 03:58, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This was originally a redirect to the Sliders (TV series) page (which was then moved to its current title), but I don't see how this is related to that series. A Google search did not come up with any hits for this search term. Natg 19 (talk) 01:53, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Strange capitalization that isn't in the actual article. Would support changing to Bendgate if the redirect is deemed helpful considering it gets very few pageviews. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 00:47, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Keep per the clause
"Likely alternative capitalizations (for example, Natural Selection redirects to Natural selection)." from WP:RPURPOSE.
Bend and Gate are words on their own so it is possible that people capitalize them in CamelCase. Roostery123 (talk) 13:47, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
