I propose the deletion of this redirect. The d not being captalized aside ({{R from miscapitalisation}}), there is an extra s at the end of the redirect's name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LucasMRB (talkcontribs) 22:08, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RDAB pages with extra spaces between the parentheses created in error. WP:G6 probably doesn't apply due to the previous RFD these have gone through. Unlike that last RFD though, which included redirects that got a lot of pageviews, none of these get enough views to consider useful (highest is 4 I think, most have 0). Nickps (talk) 21:30, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Provided the equivalent pages without the extraneous space in their titles exist as either articles or redirects to articles, I say delete them all -- — The Anome (talk) 23:07, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All of them exist without the spaces except Karl Hagedorn ( German American painter) and Not In My Name ( Protest In India) which are in Karl Hagedorn (German-American painter) and Not In my name (protest In India). Not In My Name (Protest In India) is a miscapitalisation we don't need to create but I'm not opposed to Karl Hagedorn (German American painter) if anyone wants it. Squidward Nose (Cupcakke Song) didn't exist when you wrote your comment but I've since created it. Nickps (talk) 23:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've just created the second of these, and agree with you that the first is not worth creating. Given that, I think we can now speedy delete all of the nominated malformed redirects. — The Anome (talk) 09:17, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I propose the deletion of the redirect. The redirect is misspelled ("brasil" should have the b captalized). — Preceding unsigned comment added by LucasMRB (talkcontribs) 21:07, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

keep per "yeah, people do that". the misconception that brazil is real aside, those miscapitalizations are fine. it's only really when something has completely fucked up capitalization (like "2011 COPa do BRasil" or "2011 CoPa Do BrAsIl") that it becomes a problem cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 11:14, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

not sure if recentism applies with mythology and a thing that ended in 2018, but the five gods of melee seem to be the primary topic for this specific term (the word "the" notwithstanding). should they be retargeted to one or the other, kept, or disambiguated, and on the former two cases, should they get hatnotes? cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 20:30, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete it. It's existence implies that "Stupidgate" is common shorthand for the controversy, which it is not. "Stupidgate" longer appears in the article and none of the (many) uses of "stupidgate" online are for this controversy. No Wikipedia pages use the redirect. Here's a note that claims that "stupidgate" was only ever used this way by one Fox commentator. Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 19:05, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

delete per nom, but i'll also recommend using twinkle for rfd purposes, as this nomination was placed at the bottom of the page for some reason (but was otherwise not malformed, good job), and keeping in mind that the possessive form of "it" is "its" (no apostrophe, very important) cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 19:26, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. The keep is conditional on the content being present at the target. Jay 💬 14:35, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

really funny, but only linked at the end of the article (and cited 4 times, which i will provide no input on), and not mentioned otherwise cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 12:50, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep for now. As it stands, this is a correctly targeted redirect-- while it's a tiny amount of information, it IS still SOME information that we have regarding the redirect title. However, and this is such a big however that I'm going to put it in bold, I don't believe this piece of information should stay on the article. While tmbw.net boasts that the official They Might Be Giants site links to them (in multiple places), the current site... doesn't. And not only are there no citations for the inclusion of TMBW on the Wikipedia page, I also don't believe they're a reliable source; it's in the same ballpark as WP:FANDOM-- heck, TMBW's own About page mentions that Wikia (which later became Fandom) offered to host the wiki on their servers, and they declined because they... wanted more control than Wikia offered?
That said, at the end of the day, this is a discussion about the redirect, not the information being redirected to. And as it stands, the information is there-- so if someone wants to find it, this is where it is. 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 03:33, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: From my own notes in the redirect, a pirated game cartridge had used that misspelling (I don't remember which one) WhisperToMe (talk) 20:09, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete WP:RDEL #8. Extremely obscure from my searches, only finding apparent typos. Ca talk to me! 15:02, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:RTYPO, as it only has one error. I do not find it implausible, especially given WhisperToMe's compelling statement. If this has occurred on official material, it may be a redirect with possibilities (i.e we may cover it somewhere or someday). — Godsy (TALKCONT) 17:15, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While I see some typos as plausible I don’t see missing the O in Nintendo as likely it’s not something like a silent letter or unusual combination of letters where a typo would be more expected. Also I don’t believe the existence of a pirate cart that hasn’t appeared to be covered anywhere on Wikipedia for the 12 year period that this redirect existed as compelling whatsoever. Finally, while I may be wrong, I see keeping this because we may at a later date cover the pirate cart to be a WP:CRYSTAL issue--67.70.101.117 (talk) 16:14, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that PANDORA applies in this case. It is not formatted as a phrase or obscure in the way described therein. It is not reasonable to assume people will start to search for titles without the last letter (or an "o" specifically) because this exists. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 21:51, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The character is not mentioned in the target article, rendering the redirect pointless. ZFT (talk) 04:37, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment While I'm not really that knowledgeable about pokemon myself, Bulbapedia says Karen is one of the Elite Four in Kanto and Johto for multiple of the games. I note that other Elite Four characters are included in the list for some, but not all regions. It seems like it would be consistent to add her (and the others of the four?) to the list, which would then warrant keeping this redirect... but I'm not really sure what the list inclusion criteria for this list are or should be. Fieari (talk) 07:21, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Karen's lack of notability in Pokémon is a bit of a Wikipedia joke. She's an example at WP:Pokémon test (which even has the shortcut WP:KAREN), and was an april fools joke in 2022 based on that. BugGhost🦗👻 07:24, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. I definitely wouldn't give her a standalone article... but I do wonder about list inclusion. It seems plausible that she has enough significance for that... but has there been any consensus on that? Any specific list inclusion criteria set? Fieari (talk) 07:39, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Unless some sort of evidence of her notability comes to light that allows her to sensibly be added to the list. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 09:56, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i don't even remember what her type is, and if the unova elite four (aka the best characters until guzma, don't @ me, i'm right) aren't mentioned at all, karen might as well not even be in the games. delete, and don't look back cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 11:09, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I keep asking, and I'm genuinely trying to find out because I don't know: what is the inclusion criteria for the list? WP:OTHERSTUFFDOESNTEXIST isn't a good argument by itself... but I agree it would be a good argument if it establishes actual list inclusion criteria. Can you help me out here? Fieari (talk) 23:13, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
in case of doubt, i'd say the only real criterion in this case is being talked about by sources not considered unreliable in more detail than "hey look it's karen, anyway". kind of why greninja doesn't have a proper article (at the moment) cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 13:46, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Tmk the list seems to really only be including "significant" characters within the context of the series (Those who play an important role in the plot of a game, those who have a recurring status, etc) but again criteria is unclear. I do believe it'd be worthwhile to start a discussion on it at some point. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 18:36, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Weak delete. Given her history on the Wiki it feels bizarre but there's really no valid redirect target for her. I briefly considered Wikipedia:Pokémon test but I doubt that'd be valid on the off chance someone is actually searching for the character. A shame, but there's really no alternative. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 18:39, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete for now, mainspace is for the readers and having some relevance in the inside history of Wikipedia doesn't mean the redirect should be kept. However, I'm surprised that Kanto's Elite Four is mentioned but not the others, given that the source supporting it also discusses the other Elite Fours. If that source is used to expand the article and mention Karen, I wouldn't be opposed to the redirect being kept/recreated. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 20:56, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While the Cambridge Analytica affair may be related to the case (and the current target should probably be linked in a future article at the redirect), the target article makes no mention of the SCOTUS lawsuit named in the redirect. I don't think someone would search for the lawsuit looking for information on the scandal, and so I believe this is a good candidate to return to red in hopes someone will create an article for the case.
