Background
- Suspected sockmaster was banned on the English wiki on 19 April 2024. Brommel79 is probably a sleeper account, which made 3 edits on October 2019, and became active again around the time of the ban.[1]
User Pages
- They created user pages with the same edit summaries a few days apart, Brommel on 26-30 June, Andreas on 1 July: French[2]vs[3], Catalonian[4]vs[5], Spanish[6]vs[7], Italian[8]vs[9]
Edit history
- 2019: Andreas.stockhausen did not make any edits between January and October 2019. He made 30 edits 15-24 October. 8 edits in November. 2 edits February 2020. No edits since then until April 2021.
- Brommel79 made only 3 edits before 2024, all on October 21 and 22 2019, the time Andreas.stockhausen was most active.
- 2024: Brommel79 made 1 edit on 28 March. Andreas.stockhausen was banned on 19 April. Brommel79 made 4 edits on 20-21 April.[12]
- Both made edits on the same 6 language wikis: German, French, Italian, Spanish, Catalonian and English.[13][14]
- They are both very active since the end of June, but there are no overlaps. It's either one or the other that edits, with multiple hours or days in between.
Topics
- They both edit about the same combination of niche topics. Egyptology, specifically on pyramid ramps, and German literature, specifically on Faust by Rudolf Volz.[15][16]
- Both recently edited the German Rudolf Volz article, Brommel on 1 July[17], Andreas on 2 July[18] Only ~17 people have edited that page.
- Andreas started editing on Dows Dunham on 16 June, with the most recent edit on 5 July.[19]

[edit]- Check declined by a checkuser - Listed master account is Stale for comparison, so CU will not be helpful here. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 20:15, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- Closing without action Behavioral evidence shows a possible connection, but it's also possible that two German engineers are interested in the Pyramids (which sounds like a normal interest for an engineer). I also don't see any signs of Brommel engaging in the suspected UPE that Andreas was blocked for (though I have my doubts on that one). The accounts also seem to coexist on other wikis where neither of them are blocked, and don't seem to be doing anything that actually violates policy like votestacking or edit warring. I just don't see enough to block here. The WordsmithTalk to me 00:41, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
