I propose to merge Albanianism here. It appears to be just a word to describe the Albanian nationalism. I always thought that it is a pejorative, but the current text of Albanianism suggests otherwise, in any case, there is preciously little sourced text there/ Викидим (talk) 03:32, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support, there's no distinction made between the two yet in the new article, and the sources cited so far are unusably vague: are they book citations? Wikishovel (talk) 05:12, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! All of the sources are put on the page. As an Albanian, that word has more meaning than what it was used for by propagandists when Albania was the first Official Atheist State. It is used more commonly by unreligious Albanians to show that they are proud of their country. It is commonly used in Albania when people ask "What religion are you?" and you respond "Albanianism". We Albanians are one of the most religiously diverse countries in Europe I believe, since we are all Albanianists, and also have churches and masjids in every neighborhood. That phrase and term is commonly used, as it shows our love for the motherland, and I will not let anyone merge this page, as people need to know about this term, since it is probably unknown to every country except Albania. @Wikishovel They are also used outside of books. Sorry, but I am a beginner at Wikipedia and I thought that when we needed to put the source, I just put it from the books that I read. What should I do now? Andi Atdhetari (talk) 16:44, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Two things are needed: a clear definition of the difference between Albanianism and Albanian nationalism, and reliable sources to verify that definition. Books, newspapers, reliable websites, etc. are all fine, and in any language. Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 16:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikishovel "Albanian nationalism is a general grouping of nationalist ideas and concepts generated by ethnic Albanians that were first formed in the 19th century during the Albanian National Awakening (Albanian: Rilindja).". One of these ideas was "Albanianism", but in the page, it does not give a clear definition of what Albanianism is. Andi Atdhetari (talk) 18:00, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
