Talk page of vanished user
[edit]I noticed that you deleted User talk:Vanished user 0x8cSXE0x6. However, WP:CVUT notes that this normally isn't done, even for vanished users, certainly not under WP:U1. Are there any extenuating circumstances here which aren't immediately obvious, or would you be willing to restore the page? Thanks, 35.139.154.158 (talk) 21:35, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- It was based on user request ie per "rare exception, not the rule". But yes per "Any deletion can be challenged and overturned at deletion review." Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:26, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate the response, but I don't understand it; also there is:
"Community consensus is that user talk pages should be deleted only where there is a compelling reason to do so—related to serious privacy concerns and the potential for real-world harm. Otherwise, user talk pages should be deleted only at MfD."
. Are you saying that there was such a privacy concern or potential for real-world harm? If not, and it was a simple U1, then this would seem to be improper, in which case, please restore it. I don't think a full-blown DRV is needed in that case. Thanks again, 35.139.154.158 (talk) 05:28, 7 August 2024 (UTC)- Yes. Just looking into one thing. Give me a couple of days. Delete Category:Pages with ImageStack sets?
[edit]Hey Doc James. At VPT we were asked to rename Category:Pages with ImageStack sets to Category:Pages using gadget ImageStackPopup. I've made all the technical changes needed. Was just wondering if you'd like to self delete Category:Pages with ImageStack sets using criterion C2E? That'd be more proper than me just deleting it out of process. –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:55, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sure will do Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:07, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi Doc James, hope you are well. I am trying to understand the use of "despite" in "the continued use of cannabis despite clinically significant impairment". Is this saying that the person already has clinically significant impairment caused by the use of cannabis, but continues to use it? Thanks so much, regards. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 06:23, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- This is the standard wording for all mental disorders. If one uses cannabis but it does not cause any health, work, relationship, or financial problems then one does not have a "disorder" per the DSM. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 11:17, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
