Hi, Perry. Can I prevail upon you to upload [[:File:Disneyland hub banner.jpg]] locally, with [[Template:Non-free image]] attached? Since the ''Partners'' statue is under copyright, I think the banner will have to be deleted from Commons. Hello, PerryPlanet! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
You also might want to read cross-identification of accounts. --Globe-trotter (talk) 00:49, 6 October 2012 (CEST)

- PerryPlanet, it's great to see you here, and doing good edits, as usual! Just one point of style: External links should not be front-linked, such as you did for attractions in the "Pittsburgh Region" section of "Get out" in the Pittsburgh article. Please have a look here for standard format for external links: [1]. All the best, (WV-en) Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:58, 12 October 2012 (CEST)

New Mexico Pueblos map & nomination
Hey John, I made a map for your New Mexico Pueblos article, and nominated it for dotm! How does the map look? --Peter Talk 04:44, 1 November 2012 (CET)
Print stuff
Hey, Perry. You might want to consider leaving in the WTP stuff -- at least some of it. At some point we'll be needing to find a way to designate certain material as unprintworthy, and retaining the established signifiers in articles that had WTP editions could be useful to that end. Re: Portland, Oregon
I responded on my talk page. I'd love to see some editors work on the Portland, Oregon page and ideally have it promoted to quality status. If you have other thoughts, feel free to post here, on my talk page, or on the Portland discussion page. --Another Believer (talk) 00:42, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Re:Singapore nomination
Hi PerryPlanet. Thanks for your message. Wow, I'm amazed of the progress at that page. It's definitely in a much better shape. I guess it's a reminder to us all that our standards change over the years, but also that we need to continue to improve star articles, and not declare them untouchable beacons of greatness. I withdrew my nom. All the best, JamesA >talk 10:07, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Finger Lakes
I see you took the plunge and color-coded the subregions of Finger Lakes. I appreciate the help, and I especially appreciate your care in getting the borders correct! However, I have a couple of concerns.
First, I was never really sure how to handle the colors (which is why it hadn't been done previously). Intellectually, I still liked the idea of using the same colors from the New York (state) map for the regions' maps, as you can see in the three I've done: Niagara Frontier in blue, Southern Tier in yellow, Finger Lakes in red. As a result, I'd been thinking about making the colors variations on that red/pink hue, much like Peter's evocative Ireland map is all shades of green. The colors you chose (apparently from the NY map) work well enough, but I was wondering what you thought of my old idea?
Second, the text sizes seem to have increased significantly in the new version of the map; was that intentional, or did something go wonky?
-- LtPowers (talk) 19:57, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, I look forward to seeing what you come up with (not least so I can replicate it on Niagara Frontier!). LtPowers (talk) 20:08, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
- I think it works fairly well. Nice work on the apple-red for Apple Country. =) The font size is smaller but still larger than before; I may go in and try to tweak it but I don't see any major problems that require immediate correction. Thanks again for the help! LtPowers (talk) 20:49, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
Antelope Valley
Hi. I've been working on the Antelope Valley page and noticed you removed two listings from the Towns section (Lake Hughes and Lake Elizabeth). Was just curious about the reasoning behind it. Do they not fit with some aspect of WikiVoyage? (Just trying to learn how to make this project better.) Thanks. Wrk3 (talk) 18:40, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
UserMerge
Hey, I just noticed that your old WT account contributions were never merged into your WV account. Would you like me to do that now? --Peter Talk 07:47, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done! I was surprised to see the few long-timers who had forgotten about this ;) I put your old talk page (and archives) at User talk:PerryPlanet/Archive. Maybe you might want to move the archive links to your current talk page. Your user page is still available too (in the history of the redirect), if you want to use anything from it. --Peter Talk 07:54, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
Manhattan
Hey, Perry; when you made this edit, did you update the many redirects that redirect to that section title? LtPowers (talk) 13:52, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
Removal of routeboxes from Los Angeles
I think your removal of routeboxes from Los Angeles was in error. New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and other big cities whose articles are broken up into neighborhoods have them, so why not L.A.? The routeboxes in L.A. are reserved for routes that leave the county, so I'm not seeing a compelling reason not to have them, nor for that matter am I seeing a compelling reason to have Buttonwillow and Camarillo link to Los Angeles/Downtown rather than just Los Angeles. I haven't reverted you back yet, just thought I'd tell you why I did what I did first. Purplebackpack89 22:45, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
Perry, glad to see you back!
Back at least now and then and doing a few edits. I hope life is treating you well.
Perhaps you'd like to have a look at these threads on Manhattan:
Talk:Manhattan/Upper East Side#Maps (Summary: There are 2 maps in that article now, and the static map that Powers tells me you created is at serious threat of being deleted in favor of a dynamic map.)

Vegas
Hi!
Great that you're cleaning up the Las Vegas article and adding geo coordinates to the establishments. I've planned to do it myself since Christmas but always had some lazy excuses not to :P. BTW do you happen to know if The Quad is still a construction site like it was a year ago? If they're done, then we should update the description. ϒpsilon (talk) 19:00, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

LA map improvements
The Wikivoyage Barncompass | |
Many thanks for all of the mapmasks on the LA maps - it is a huge usability win, and a lot of work, particularly for oddly shaped cities such as my current hometown of Culver City. Very nicely done. --Ryan • (talk) • 07:11, 2 January 2015 (UTC) |
- Thanks! I've been meaning to put masks on those maps for a while. PerryPlanet (talk) 07:13, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

- Yep, sorry, what happened with the 3 and the 6? Rodrigo Tetsuo Argenton m 20:05, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- They were demolished. Terminal 6 was taken out a few years back, and Terminal 3 was removed about a year ago. The airport just hasn't bothered to re-name the remaining terminals. PerryPlanet (talk) 20:11, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Seattle
Hi, User:PerryPlanet!
I notice you've been doing a lot of editing on the Seattle article and district articles for that city. Are you trying to get it in shape for a dotm nomination? I think that would be great!
All the best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:06, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, PerryPlanet!
You have done amazing work for wikimedia!!
Janine
Thanks!

Thanks for the US Airways-ectomy. Those sorts of cleanups are hugely tedious, so it's impressive to see it handled in one huge push. Ryan • (talk) • 02:17, 15 November 2015 (UTC) |
