* There is popular demand to form a separate Mancherial district, as it is far away (160 km) from the district headquarters [[Adilabad]], and has all the features that a district headquarters should have.

* It is on the main north-south railway route from Delhi to Chennai. The major junctions up north are Ballarshah in Maharashtra and Kazipet in Warangal District to the south.
