Removal
editI started the cleanup, removing POV and plagiarism. Will continue the process when I have time. There is a whole nest of articles surrounding these topics which require extensive work. BE——Critical__Talk 17:17, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
This edit should have said removing plagiarism from "Census of India, 1951" BE——Critical__Talk 18:04, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Appreciate all you have done. will help build this article free from political religious/regional bias. thx again --Qaleechpuri (talk) 11:26, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- Great (: It probably needs to be merged with Jat people also. One of the main problems is all the copyright violations, that needs to be dealt with quickly also. BE——Critical__Talk 20:15, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- i do not understand why it needs to be merged with Jat people they are ethnicly not even related to punjabi Jatts nor do they speak the same language. when u say Jat its actually Jaat which means a caste in hindu religion. these people are those that do not fall into any of the hindu castes hence they are labeled just Jaats or casteless while Jatt with a double hard T as it is pronounced does not have that meaning as they were never hindus is a historical fact but rather are known collectively as a tribe of Punjab. --Qaleechpuri (talk) 09:22, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- WE have had this discussion 2 years ago. We consensually decided to merge all pages with Jat, Jatt, Jaat etc to one page. There are other pages such as Jat Muslim, Jat Sikh, Jat Hindu etc too however. If you are in any doubt there is a difference then please read the references on the Jat people article. That should clear it up. Jat is not a caste in the Hindu religion, Jat is a tribal group that has been ABSORBED into the caste system, like many other groups like Kamboj, Gujjar etc. Thanks--Sikh-History 10:07, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
