Deleted image

edit

The image I uploaded, File:Screenshot of Umehara ga kimeta.jpg, has been deleted. I had reduced the size of this image to 448x329 and published it, but it seems that the reduction was not enough, and a further reduction was published by a bot. I remember that the warning on the page at the time said that further reductions would not be removed, but I lost track of it. Do you know where the further shrunken images are currently located?狄の用務員 (talk) 03:57, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@狄の用務員: The file was not deleted because of the image size, it was tagged as failing WP:NFCC#8. You can read more about the contextual significance criterion at WP:NFC#CS. In a nutshell, the use of a non-free screenshot in an article is usually not permitted unless the screenshot itself is subject to sourced critical commentary. plicit 07:50, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I understood that it was removed due to other criteria, not because of size. 狄の用務員 (talk) 08:28, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please explain deletion

edit

Hi, you deleted File:1966 Official Lebanese Map of Shebaa Farms and Syrian border.png without explanation, even though I showed in the original listing (visible [here]) that it is a perfect match to "a controversial map of a disputed territory, if the controversy is discussed in the article" that is a stated exception to WP:NFC#UUI, criterion 4. Please explain.

Besides that, there is something amiss with the way you relisted the file without giving a link to the existing discussion. That earlier discussion didn't suddenly become irrelevant, and the relisting doesn't even state the proposed reason for deletion. Am I missing something? Zerotalk 09:57, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Zero0000: Hi, the file was deleted in accordance with the clear consensus at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2024 August 18#File:1966 Official Lebanese Map of Shebaa Farms and Syrian border.png. That's not "without explanation". WP:NFC#UUI suggests a non-free map "may be appropriate " (emphasis mine). It is not a guarantee. Said map would still need to meet all the criteria of WP:NFCC, which participants felt it did not.
I'm not sure what issue you're taking with the relisting. The original log page reads, "relisted on 2024 August 18." It links to the new location of the discussion. That is the standard at FFD, WP:TFD, and WP:RFD. plicit 10:26, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I understand now. I clicked on everything except the date. It would be clearer if it looked like relisted on 2024 August 18. Is that a fixed template? Zerotalk 11:24, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion review for Collective PAC

edit

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Collective PAC. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. I objected to the deletion when it was first proposed and missed the second push to delete. The Cunctator (talk) 20:53, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Info from deleted article

Hi, you deleted Nationalities at the Eureka Stockade. It contained a source "Ward 1979" which I need to repair a no-target error in another article, White nationalism and the Eureka Rebellion. If you could provide it that would be appreciated. DuncanHill (talk) 23:06, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@DuncanHill: Hi, here is the source.

Sujan Singh

edit

I was wondering if I could get a look at this deleted article, something possibly related has been added to the Simla Railway article, and I wanted to see if it requires better sourcing, rewriting, or simple nuking. Qwirkle (talk) 05:30, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Qwirkle: Are you referring to a different article? Sujan Singh has never been deleted. plicit 06:43, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ahh, yes. I am referring to Sujan Singh (contractor). I believe you recently nuked it? Qwirkle (talk) 06:52, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Qwirkle: The page looked like this right before deletion. plicit 12:25, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the deletion of: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tekken_Master

edit

Hi. I noticed that the page for the pro e-sports player Tekken Master was deleted because it does not meet Wiki standards. While I don't know all of them, I would like to humbly request the page to be un-deleted and I promise to edit it so that it meets the Wiki standards, it would also be of great help if you could pin point to me what broke the Wiki rules so I can edit it more thoroughly and address the issue from its roots.

I remember editing the page a while ago and adding more pictures of the player, I suspect it might be that. If it is, I apologize and would like the opportunity to amend my mistakes by editing the page to make it meet Wiki's standards if you can kindly un-delete it and allow me to fix it.

Thanks in advance. Yuniac (talk) 08:32, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Yuniac:   Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. plicit 12:25, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Requesting undeletion of Draft:E. Michael Jones

Howdy,

Would you be willing to undelete the page in the section title? I think it's a promising draft, and I do think it has article potential.

Free Fire World Series – Global Finals 2024 qualification

edit

May I know why you have deleted this page Free Fire World Series – Global Finals 2024 qualification ?

It is a seperate article from the main tournament and it is showing the information of the teams that are participating in the qualification process and these all tournaments are done, ongoing or upcoming and scheduled and confirmed by the owner of the Game and Host of the tournaments Garena. Under point 1 of WP:CRYSTAL this is appropriate to have an article on this. WikiEditPS (TALK) 14:45, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@WikiEditPS: The page was moved into draftspace by Pbrks. Their edit summary states, "more sources needed". The resulting redirect was deleted in accordance with the speedy deletion criterion regarding cross-namespace redirects. Per WP:DRAFTOBJECT, it can be moved back to mainspace if you object to the draftication. plicit 14:50, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Mac Clark

edit

Hi, Explicit. I happened to notice off chance (after looking at my AfD stats just now) that there's a bit of a situation involving Mac Clark. I nominated the article at AfD last October with a result to send to draftspace. The article was then recreated by User:Mario Silvas, apparently not aware that the previous article still existed in draft. The draft was then pruned due to inactivity by you two days ago.

Without regard as to whether the subject has met GNG since October, the last AfD resulted in a consensus to at least keep the attribution history. If MS had been aware of the draft, I'm sure he would have just moved it out if he feels the subject has met GNG. Is there a way for you to possibly REFUND the draft and then do a histmerge? ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  15:26, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@GhostOfDanGurney: Hi, I've restored the draft and merged the page histories. plicit 23:53, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dear Explicit,

as far as I remember, you were the main party behind the deletion of my 180+ article creations (primarily redirects, but also a sidebar, some drafts, my sandbox etc.). Now that I have been fully exonerated, I'd like to request you to undelete all of these as well. I'm sure there was no bad faith involved, but still.

Since they had almost all been reviewed before, I hope this won't be necessary again this time around; IDK.

As for exceptions... I do remember (1.) making a spelling error in a variant redirect of "The Public Discourse" and (2.) Conservative Philosopher wanted his user page deleted anyways (*I, mistakenly, had commented there because I wanted to find out why so few right-leaning editors stay on WP...).

Kind regards,

@Biohistorian15: Hi, I have restored most of the pages. User:Biohistorian15/common.js and User:Biohistorian15/vector-2022.js can not be restored by administrators, I believe requests for undeletion are made at WP:IANB. plicit 01:21, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I changed the redirect of List of programmes broadcast by Disney Channel (British and Irish TV channel), because I wanted to make space to validate this draft List of programmes broadcast by Disney Channel (UK and Ireland). @Conyo14 asked me to "change the lead to include the UK and Ireland's broadcast channel" Filippo.g204 (talk) 11:10, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
