- The result of the discussion was retarget to Universe of The Legend of Zelda. Seems reasonable and it doesn't hurt to err on the side of keeping history. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 13:35, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

- Refine to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time#Plot which gives an overview of places in the game within the plot detail or retarget to Universe of The Legend of Zelda which seems to be the catch-all list that includes major locations in the series. -- Tavix (talk) 22:23, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

According to a The Legend of Zelda wiki, this subject isn't exclusive to the target article's subject; apparently, it's also present in other The Legend of Zeld games. Either way, the redirect is not mentioned in the target article, and its mention on Wikipedia probably fails WP:NOTWIKIA. Steel1943 (talk) 22:45, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

- Template:Major contributor → Template:COI (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Misleading redirect. A "major contributor" has nothing to do with COI per se. We shouldn't have a redirect that may mislead editors into usage for non-COI cases. An article with a major contributor that doesn't have or isn't suspected of having a COI should never use this template/redirect and such usage may be ad hominem. I will replace all 6 uses of this redirect today. I'm aware as an old redirect we are averse to deleted, but this should at least be noted as misleading and deprecated, preferably deleted due to the seriousness of confusion/misuse, with little upside. Widefox; talk 10:51, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- update - all 6 uses are now avoided. Widefox; talk 20:37, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. It's easy to see how why was created: the template's text starts with the phrase "Major contributor". And although this phrase is probably too vague to actually be looked up as a template name (and hence the potential for misuse isn't at a large scale), there's still enough such potential to outweigh any possible benefits of the redirect. – Uanfala (talk) 18:18, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

- Kiyotaka Furushima → List_of_Pokémon_anime_characters#Rivals (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This is a prolific voice actor with dozens of roles, that was foolishly redirected to a list article featuring just one of them. Redirects of this type do not benefit the reader, since someone looking for a voice actor would expect to find information on a voice actor, not a list of characters for a random series. Xezbeth (talk) 05:30, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Delete per nominator. His Japanese Wikipedia page ja:古島清孝 shows a bunch of roles. If he's notable this should be WP:REDLINKed to encourage article creation. If he's not notable, search results (which mention many of his roles) are still more useful than redirecting to a single role. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 05:43, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Delete - I'm not sure, but I'm inclined to also believe that he's notable enough that WP:REDLINK applies. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 10:00, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

- Comment: Draft:Kiyotaka Furushima has existed since 2008, and has been edited recently. Steel1943 (talk) 18:00, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- ...Something at that page looks odd. Xezbeth (or any other administrator who recently dealt with these pages), do you know if the edit history at Kiyotaka Furushima was at some point moved to Draft:Kiyotaka Furushima? Steel1943 (talk) 18:03, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- It was moved yesterday and a passing admin deleted the cross-namespace redirect. Not ideal, but I don't see a problem with it. —Xezbeth (talk) 18:10, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- In fact Jabunra did the same thing with Draft:Inuko Inuyama, Draft:Naru Kawamoto and Draft:Yukari Kokubun, which I also agree with. Exact same issue as the subject of this RfD, those AfDs should never have been closed that way and I would have just reverted had I known how many of them there were. —Xezbeth (talk) 18:19, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Xezbeth: Thanks for the explanation. After I posted this comment, I noticed that I could have answered my own question if I had looked more closely at the nominated redirect's log page. Given the situation, I don't see an issue with what happened either; I just wanted to ensure that the edit history's move was documented in some shape or form. Since the move of the edit history to Draft:Kiyotaka Furushima didn't have an edit summary, I overlooked it. Steel1943 (talk) 18:41, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

Implausible redirect, with the first letter capitalized. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 05:10, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- We could, in theory, automatically redirect all www.foo.com to Foo and www.bar.com to Bar, but short of that, these kinds of redirects aren't helping. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 18:32, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- You just probably unintentionally made a "apples and oranges" comment. "www.nintendo.com" is the web site (or a URL redirect) representing Nintendo. But, for example, I'm sure that "www.rabbit.com" is not the web site for Rabbit. Steel1943 (talk) 19:25, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- It would be fairly trivial to automate distinguishing between articles that are proper nouns and those that aren't, or those that are organizations, companies or government agencies. Then the url would map to the article name with an acceptable level of reliability. Assuming this kind of redirect was even desirable. I don't know why we think anybody types www.acmecorp.com when they are looking for Acme Corp. It assumes a large swath of readers don't understand what urls are and where they come from. Zero aticles link to www.nintendo.com or www.microsoft.com or www.apple.com. Its a lot of WP:BEANS. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 20:15, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

- Keep. Due to a limitation in MediaWiki, all articles have the first letter of their title capitalized. Www.Nintendo.com and www.Nintendo.com are the same page. See WP:NCLOWERCASEFIRST for more information. I added {{Lowercase title}} to the redirect to fix its appearance. - Eureka Lott 18:47, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- @EurekaLott: I almost made the same comment here, but I think the nominator is actually taking about the "N" in the redirect. @Zxcvbnm: Are you referring to the "W" or the "N"? Steel1943 (talk) 19:07, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep unless EurekaLott's assumption about what the nominator means by their nomination statement is proven incorrect; if it is proven incorrect, then I am "neutral". Steel1943 (talk) 17:54, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
- Delete. Anyone seeking out a Website is going to type its URL into the actual URL bar of the respective browser, not the Search Bar here on Wikipedia. Delete as both a very implausible search, and, with the dots in the middle, an irregular syntax for a page title. The Mysterious El Willstro (talk) 06:59, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Weak delete given the capitalisation of Nintendo. However the arguments about deleting URLs in general don't hold water: readers may search for URLs to determine e.g. whether it's really the official website, or to whom a given website belongs if it's not obvious from the name and they can't read anything on the page (e.g. joins.com). 59.149.124.29 (talk) 13:25, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Implausible WP:NEO slang. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 05:07, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Delete as obscure synonym for now. I think it is the name of an obscure DIY 3D printed NES console. I'm not sure if it's notable enough to warrant an article though. --Lenticel (talk) 14:36, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Not technically an "alternate capitalization". Unless we are planning to add allcaps redirects to every article, this does not seem plausible. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 05:01, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Weak Keep - This appears to be a different case than usual because somebody looking at just the box (see here) would see the product name put in all caps prominently. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 10:01, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep plausible synonym/ alternate caps. It seems that it be mistaken for all caps --Lenticel (talk) 14:33, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
