For performances, all students, ensembles, and a cappella groups use Harkness Chapel. The bands and orchestra also perform at Severance Hall (the on-campus home of the Cleveland Orchestra) and CIM's Kulas Hall.
CWRU's Historical Performance Practice program is one the leading early music schools in the country, offering both a Master of Arts (MA) and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degrees. The small, highly-selective program offers all accepted students a comprehensive funding package, including tuition fees and a living stipend. Prominent graduates of the program include violinists Julie Andrijeski (founding member of Apollo's Fire and artistic director of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra) and Alan Choo (concertmaster of Apollo's Fire), as well as oboist Debra Nagy (principal oboe of Handel & Haydn Society and artistic director of Les Délices).
