Betty Jamerson Reed (born 1937) is a researcher, author and retired educator in the United States. She authored several books including Soldiers in Petticoats —Appalachian Educators— Sophia Sawyer, Emily Prudden, Martha Berry about the work of three Christian educators.[1] Her writings have also been included in anthologies.[2] She also writes poetry.[3] She lives in Transylvania County, North Carolina.[3]

She is a geaduate of Bryan College. She taught History, English, and Spanish at East Henderson High School, Brevard High School, and Rosman High School and has also been an instructor at Blue Ridge Community College, Mars Hill College, Brevard College, and Western Carolina University.[4] She was interviewed in 2020.[5]
