In 2014 the national government began building the [[Ciudad Universitaria railway station|Ciudad Universitaria]] station. The new station, opened in August 2015, replaced Scalabrini Ortiz (located 700 metres to the south of it). Another proposed station was "Aeroparque", which would join the railway station with [[Aeroparque Jorge Newbery]] airport.
