Gurgaon is an affluent and modern area to live in with high costing apartments in particular and are two cities living within a bigger conurbation - Old Gurgaon and New Gurgaon. The area to the east of NH 8 is called New Gurgaon as it has developed more recently. The area to the west of NH 8 is often called Old Gurgaon as it was developed much earlier. New Gurgaon being built later, has more modern architecture. However, most of the basic amenities like the Bus stand, Railway station and Civil hospital lie in Old Gurgaon.
