Oneworld is the second largest airline alliance in the world. Its members are Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia Airlines, Lan and Qantas.
Canadian Airlines was a member until it was absorbed by Air Canada. Swiss International Air Lines was about to become a member, before it decided against joining the alliance on June 3, 2004.
Its major rivals are the Star Alliance and Skyteam Alliance.
Possible future members
Japan Airlines, Mexicana, SN Brussels Airlines and TAM Airlines are potential candidates to join Oneworld alliance. They have already codeshared with the Oneworld members such as American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Lan, Qantas and etc.
