Traditional Persian new year feast [[Nowruz]] features a sweet paste named [[Samanu]], which is made much like the same way as mämmi, but uses wheat instead of rye. Because of this, Persians tend to like mämmi{{Citation needed|date=November 2016}}, because it appears to be similar as samanu.
