Moore's Island

Moore's Island is one of the districts of the Bahamas, on the Abaco Islands.

Moore’s Island

Moore’s Island is located on Abaco it is one of the little cays off from the main land of Abaco. It is approximately seven (7) miles long and three and half (3 ½) miles wide and approximately twenty eight (28) miles from Abaco. It has two (2) settlements, Hard Bargain which is the capital and the other settlement is the Bight.

To arrive to Moore’s Island by boat traveling from Sandy point pass Gorda Cay (Castaway Cay), Long Rock can be passed on either side stay offshore in deep waters because inland is infested with heads. Then pass south Channel Cay (Stake Cay) which has a light tower. After passing Channel Cay take a direct approach six (6) feet to the north end of Moore’s Island to locate Hard Bargain.
