While many PC booters will decompress an attached image of an archive to a RAM disk, the boot file itself will in most cases be a compressed executable (although not necessarily one of the standard types), so both terms apply. Restored dis&advantages sections. Use better applying term diskette instead of disk (even though it redirects). Used DOS to refer to the whole family of operating systems, not MS-DOS specifically. undo
