In April 2021, Monsignor Kieran E. Harrington of the Diocese of Brooklyn, was named the new national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the U.S. The appointment was made by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, prefect of the Vatican [[Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples]].
