Pantano received his first role appearing on the series ''[[Police Rescue]]''. He appeared twice on police drama series ''[[Water Rats (TV series)|Water Rats]]'', in which his second role on the show earned him a Young Actor's Award at the [[Australian Film Institute Awards]] in 1998. Pantano has appeared in many roles on Australian television throughout his career. In 2001 he played the part of [[Jack Scully]] in ''[[Neighbours]]'', a role which was later portrayed by [[Jay Ryan (actor)|Jay Ryan]]. He received his first leading role in 1998 when he was cast as 'Marcello Di Campili' in the children's television series ''[[Crash Zone]]'', playing the character for two seasons until the show's cancellation in 2001. His other leading roles where in the short-lived [[FOX8]] drama series ''[[Dangerous (TV series)|Dangerous]]'' and ''[[Breakers (TV series)|Breakers]]''.
