Born on 25 June 1982 in [[Thessaloniki]] and raised in [[Sykia Halkidiki]]. Ηer [[Hellenization|Hellenized]]-[[Romani people|Gypsy]] father, Alexandros and [[Greeks|Greek]]her mother, Maria were also musicians. She has an older brother Pericles.<ref name = "heavenbio">{{cite web|url=http://heavenmusic.gr/paola-bio/|title= Biography}}</ref> Paola began singing at 14 years old at the suggestion of a shopkeeper and with the approval of her parents. At 19, she was singing in the nightclub ''Mamounia'' in Thessaloniki.
