Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! If you're new to our community, drop us a note here and tell us a little bit about yourself. Most important, we would like to know about your interests (for which we have a separate page), your areas of knowledge, and the sorts of things you'd like to work on here at Wikipedia. That makes it easier for us to help you start editing. We'd also appreciate it if you told us how you found out about Wikipedia.

To add yourself to the list:
  • post a comment,
  • enter your name as the subject/headline (which will make a new header for you in the log), and
  • sign your name at the end of your comment by typing four tildes: ~~~~. (This code makes a link to your user page, which readers can use to welcome you personally if they like).
Your comments will then be added to the bottom of the list.

You may also like to add yourself to other lists, such as the listing in order of arrival, by country, or by skills (such as translation or photography). Finally, if you want a little personal assistance in using or contributing to the site, you might go through one of the Bootcamps.

An automatically generated list of new users can be found at Special:Log/Newusers.

Aloha

Although I'm not from the Aloha State it still seems like an appropriate greeting.

While my user name is Sdurgin the real name is:

and sadly no, not related to Durgin Park of Boston fame.

Vickser

Hello all! I got a welcome, followed the link, and eventually explored my way to here. I've been editing and updating mostly football related articles, with a special interest in neglected World Cup referees. Nice to meet you all, and I look forward to contributing to the project! hello, i'm just getting started and i think i'll need some getting-used-to for abit.

A little information on Naturemisstress

Here is a little bit of information about myself and what I possibly will do to benefit Wikipedia. First of all I have no one interest. I am interested in pretty much everything. I love nature and playing outdoors, I also enjoy gardening. I also love doing puzzle's and especially research. I plan on creating new articles that have to do with subjects that are not on wikipedia yet. Since I do so much research I also plan on making the existing articles more accurate.

If you know of a website that gives accurate information on anything e-mail me please.

I am impressed!

After a very very long time I am impressed and truly happy to see a Website. Its like one of those things on which I feel how could I possibly know about it! I dont know why i didnt come accross Wikipedia before .... but I sure am happy to be a member of this every growing knowledge base. I have added something from my area of interest: Gardaa U can just search for it to see what it is. I am hopeful to add more stuff soon. Its good to learn new stuff and share your knowledge with everyone else. I am glad that someone in this world has realized that sharing knowledge only refines and grows it! Lods of Luv....

Hi, my name is Mike and I am really enjoying contributing. I believe that free access to fine quality information is important. I'm so happy that I am able to contribute in some small way to possibly making the world a better place. Wiki articles are almost always extrremely informative. I especially appreciate the fine science and technology articles. I have a special interest in open courseware, and I would like to see a complete set of curricula (books, applets, and video lectures offerred for free online. Many schools have started offerring these materials (See MIT for example.) Unfortunately, this kind of material haas not been offerred in a complete program for elementary school through high school.

I would also like to see a counter added to articles. It would be fun to see how many hits an article one has contributed to has gotten.

Hyper Anthony (Hello!)

I've been using Wikipedia for many months now in finding information whenever I need it, and now I decided to join the effort and make this the world's best encyclopedia. I enjoy video games. :)

Pusyamitra

Hi,

I'm Pusyamita, as in the glorious Hindu emperor of the post-Maurya period. I am here to clean up the terrible wikipedia articles on Hinduism and India in general and put in more balanced NPOV information and language. That's all I guess.(Pusyamitra Sunga 11:30, 8 July 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Jaywalking

A producer working on BBC Radio 4, from Birmingham, UK second generation Indian, born Sikh...but pretty definitely an atheist. Live in West London. Cyclist, runner, reader of fiction and reportage, and a part-time film buff (I especially love watching cinema from places we rarely get to see, ie not Hollywood, or Mumbai).

I suppose I heard about Wikipedia ages ago, but got more interested in using it regularly, albeit cautiously, after the John Seigenthaler controversy - which we reported on the PM programme.

Lady Keelah

Hello all! I am a native Arizonan and I'm new to Wikipedia, but I am a music and video game geek, and I plan to continue on in a career in veterinary medicine, so I shall correct mercilessly on these topics. I shall also browse and correct grammatical errors, as is my wont, but please don't be offended. ^_^ After all, that's what Wikipedia's for, no?

Hope to meet some of you soon!

Agent Koopa

I've decided to finally make myself an account. I found out about here through Internet research; Wikipedia's usually the first or second result. I'm just a kid, but I'll help Wikipedia, helping wherever possible!*
