The new calendar began in 45 BC, the previous year. 45 BC might have been a leap year or the First year of a new cycle. The leap year error comes from counting the previous leap year as the first of the next cycle which either way makes the first leap year 42 BC. Under no circumstances would 44 BC ever have been a leap year. [[User:Silas Maxfield|Silas Maxfield]] ([[User talk:Silas Maxfield|talk]]) 07:43, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
