"To prepare for the role I watched a lot of documentaries, tried to get into the heads of these guys while watching them. That's just more difficult than you think because the SAS try to keep themselves as anonymous as possible."[2]

"The SAS are the most elite soldier so they are slightly more hardened than the average soldier. Playing them definitely comes with an ease. A lot of Elvis's lines are quite throwaway, because these guys never really show much emotion. They see it as a weakness."[2]

"Elvis gets a bombshell dropped on him on the morning of the wedding, so that throws a big spanner in the works of the relationship of him and Georgie. As the series progresses, you see him try to make amends with Georgie for what's happened between them in the past. It's an evolution for sure."[2]

A third protagonist was announced in March 2016, as Luke Pasqualino was announced to portray new character Elvis Harte, a special forces officer.[3]

As a Special Forces operative, the cheeky Londoner is fearless, impulsive, self-confident, determined and cool under pressure. Elvis is a remarkable leader, brave and heroic. He had always wanted to be part of Special Forces, ever since the day he joined the army and after a number of tours he decided to attempt the SAS selection.[1]

Who is Elvis? Elvis Harte is the Special Forces commander of the SAS group.[4]

Why did Elvis join the Special Forces? Does he see himself as a hero? I don’t really know why he joined the Special Forces but I think he knows how good he is. I think Elvis wants to make the world a better place, but he only wants to do this on his own terms. He does have a lot of bravado, a lot of cheekiness and a lot of cockiness about him but at the end of the day, he gets his end goal finished and he gets you the result. He’s a bit of a maverick.[4]

What does Elvis see in Georgie? What doesn’t he see in Georgie? He finds her absolutely beautiful but she isn’t just falling at his feet. I think he likes that and the fact he has a bit of a challenge, it’s why he keeps going back. That’s why he ends up falling in love. She’s a strong woman and someone to tame the beast that is Elvis.[4]

Special Forces operative Elvis is many things – fearless, impulsive, self-confident, determined – but when it comes to commitment, well, he comes up a little short. After breaking Georgie's heart, he's determined to make amends and, in fairness, he has plenty going for him. Described as a remarkable leader, brave and heroic, he passed SAS selection and has worked on both covert and overt operations including counter terrorism and drug operations in the Middle East and Far East, in Afghanistan and most recently Syria.[5]
