When adding information, please try to WP:CITE a source for each statement whenever possible!

Welcome to Wikipedia, AndyeditsWP! Thank you for your contributions. This is an encyclopedia, so remember that it's a necessity to include references listing reliable websites, newspapers, articles, books and other sources you have used to write or expand articles. Please understand that these sources should verify the information in a fair and accurate manner. However, you must not copy and paste text you find anywhere, except for short quotations, marked as such with quote marks and carefully cited to the source the quote was taken from. New articles and statements added to existing articles may be deleted by others if unreferenced or referenced poorly or if they are copyright violations. See referencing for beginners for more details.

English variants

edit

The English-language Wikipedia uses multiple English variants including American English, Australian English, British English, Indian English, South African English, and others. This includes spelling, word choice, date formats, etc. Articles should be written in the variant associated with a national tie. e.g. India Habitat Centre otherwise should retain the existing variant; the variant used by the article creator. See WP:ENGVAR.
BTW: You missed "centre". Thank you Adakiko (talk) 04:44, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

WP:NOTBROKEN

Hello. I'd like to ask that you stop making these kinds of edits. Redirects are not errors that need to be "fixed"—in fact, they are helpful to have for a variety of reasons. Per the Wikipedia guideline WP:NOTBROKEN, editors are asked not to make edits solely to remove redirects. ― Tartan357 Talk 02:06, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andy, just wanted to let you know how wikilinks work. All wikipedia page titles start with a capital letter, which is a limitation of the platform on which it is built as I understand it. But either case works in a wikilink. When a wikilink is renamed in the text with a vertical bar, the target page title is not displayed. So inert and inert are the same; you needn't change these. Look at iPhone to see how a page that starts with a lowercase letter is dealt with via the {{lowercase title}} template. Hope that helps. Tayste (edits) 23:33, 26 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
