editInherited from Ottoman Turkish نتهكم (netekim, nitekim, “even as, as, just as”) (alternatively; نتهكیم, نتهكه (neteke, niteke/ki)),[1][2] from نته (nete, nite, “even”), from Proto-Turkic *nēteg, from the combination of *nē (“what”) + *teg (“as, as much”).[3][4] Compare Karakhanid نَتَكْ (neteg, netek, “how, in what way, how much”).
