Careproctus

género de peces

Careproctus o pez caracol es un género de peces babosos llamado de la familia Liparidae.[1]​ Se encuentran en el Océano Atlántico, Océano Austral o Océano Antártico, Ártico y en el Océano Pacífico. Estas especies marinas carecen de pseudobranquias y se pueden sumergir a grandes profundidades, algunas hasta los 9000 metros. Generalmente habitan sobre la zona béntica y se ha encontrado en la Fosa de las Marianas.
