Ever since his first album Shambala, came out in 1994, Phurbu T. Namgyal has been riding the musical charts year in year out, with a wide fan following even inside Tibet. While best known for his romantic songs, his lyrics have also included tributes to Tibetan culture and traditions. One of the most in demand concert performers, Namgyal travels widely around the world, and since launching Om Charitable Projects in early 2013, a foundation that supports healthcare for poor exile Tibetans, fifty percent of his concert fees have been going to the cause. Namgyal told VOA that having his songs connect with Tibetans inside Tibet helps keep him making his music. Visit his music site at www.potalasound.com and Om Charitable Project at www.omcharity.org]
