NMS Topology Explorer/Viewer

Overview

To facilitate understanding of network topology on Magma, a topology explorer is being added. This explorer provides a hierarchical, graphical way to view the elements within NMS, and their relationship to one another. This is a fairly standard feature of NMS products and SDN explorers, typically visible as the default page.

The following features are desired:

For each element within the explorer, the element should have contextual actions. As an example of this, a gateway should have actions provided such as reboot. A contextual menu should be provided. When clicked, menus can be opened for that component. These contextual menus and actions should be provided for all components available in the topology explorer.

The ability to expand and contract the view of various network element hierarchies should be present. As an example of this, A gateway should have eNBs displayed as its hierarchical children. The view of its children should be collapsible.

This should work with HA.

The ability to see basic statuses of network components via colors.

The ability to see alarms on each piece of equipment.

Re-opening this just for ease of tracking. At most recent evaluation, this was determined to be relatively low impact, and will likely remain so for a while.
