Is video ads supported by AdMob?

We see there is an option "Video" for interstitial Ad Unit, but never see video ads in our testing or real device.

Are there any specific extra permissions that are required for video ads to work on admob?

There is some video interstitial inventory on AdMob. Video interstitials require Android OS 4.0 and up, however.

Do we need to specifically request (somewhere) for videos to be enabled?

I am not getting a fill for video-only interstitial ads in my tests. 0. I live in Boston, MA, so it's not a question of me living in the middle of nowhere.

I think it's just due to low inventory. While some video interstitial ads might show up in your apps, I wouldn't recommend using it as your only source of inventory from AdMob if you're looking to get high fill rates.

Eric, as you said its get supported only in Android OS 4.0 and up. But what about Windows Phone? Am integrating interstitial ad in my windows phone app and selected only video while creating ad unit. But I couldn't see any video ads coming in my application?
