Hello,

Does anyone know whether the batchImport API described in https://developers.google.com/instance-id/reference/server#create_registration_tokens_for_apns_tokens will remain operational after the FCM Legacy HTTP APIs are decommissioned on June 20? The top of the page says the Instance ID APIs are deprecated and the email from FCM announcing the decommissioning mentions "Instance ID Server API for Web" as a Discontinued Register API. It's not entirely clear to me whether this means the batchImport API is also going to be shutdown this month.

I believe this API is still required because apps in the field may not update in a timely manner and will still send APN tokens for the foreseeable future. These APN tokens still need to be converted to FCM tokens on the server before it calls FCM HTTP v1 APIs.

Thanks,
James

I found an FAQ item mentioning the deprecation of these APIs here:

Instance ID server APIs

https://iid.googleapis.com/v1/web/iid
Requests to the endpoint will start failing after 6/21/2024.

Use the Web JS SDK to create FCM web registrations.

https://iid.googleapis.com/iid/*
The endpoints will continue to work but they won’t support authentication using static server keys after 6/21/2024.

Use an OAuth 2.0 access token derived from a service account.

Hello,

The batch import API is not planned for deprecation in 2024 and if it is planned for deprecation in the future we will give customers at least a 12 month notice.

Regards,
Joe
