[Skippable Ads] Uncaught (in promise)

Hi Team,

We are reaching out regarding an issue encountered with the IMA SDK's handling of skippable ads promises.

Issue: It seems that the IMA SDK did not handle the promise on skippable ads. The following error thrown non stop until the browser runs out of memory. Please check out the link for the Demo Video.

Link to the Issue: We initially raised this issue on GitHub (https://github.com/googleads/googleads-ima-html5/issues/83), but were redirected to the IMA SDK Technical Forum.

Steps to Reproduce:

Download the sample application from the simple.zip.
Use the Smart TV Emulator Smart TV Emulator Chrome extension to emulate an environment where skippable ads are not supported.
Unzip the simple.zip file and run index.html with dev tool console page.
Observe the repeating error message until the browser runs out of memory.

Request: Could you kindly investigate this issue further and provide any insights or resolutions? We greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Thank you for contacting IMA SDK support team.

I've checked shared sample project and could not replicate the issue in 3.643.0 SDK. Could you attempt to run the project in the most recent version, 3.643.0? Please contact us again if the issue persists.

Hi,

I appreciate your suggestion to run the project with the most recent version of the IMA SDK (3.643.0).

However, I still able to replicate the issue in 3.643.0 SDK.

Please see the screenshot as below:

I will recommended that you try the below instructions again:

Download the sample application from the simple.zip. We have modified the simple.zip and change only the adTagURL.
Use the Smart TV Emulator Smart TV Emulator Chrome extension to emulate an environment where skippable ads are not supported. [Very important]

Unzip the simple.zip file and run index.html with dev tool console page.

Expectation: After preroll it going to throw the error. Please refer to the demo video and also the github where we have mentioned all the issues.

Hi WaiWah,

Could you confirm whether you are facing this issue in physical Smart Tv or only in Emulator extension ? As we don't explicitly support the 'Smart TV Emulator Chrome extension'.

If you are facing this issue in physical smart tv, kindly share the issue Recording Video.

If your video is larger than 25 Mb then you can provide in this link too.

Yes, we are experiencing this issue on a physical Smart TV (LG and Samsung).
We are using the 'Smart TV Emulator Chrome Extension' to simulate the smart TV environment.
