Hi Team,
I am an Android TV developer in Taiwan. We upgraded IMA SDK to version 3.31.0, and the Google Play Console reported the following error:
This issue did not exist in the previous versions but surfaced after the SDK upgrade.
It seems to be a clearly identifiable crash point. We hope that future versions will address and correct this. Thank you.

Let me raise this to our engineering team, to see if we can provide a fix for this issue on 3.31.0.
I wanted to confirm if this is reproducible using an emulated TV device in Android studio? Or only happens on the physical devices you mentioned (HKC Pioneer (4K Smart TV), JVC Mateo (Smart TV)).

Hi all,
we see the exact same crash report, it happens on a variety of different Android TV devices. We were also not able to reproduce it yet.
Does anyone have some more insights? Or can we provide you with more information?

This issue should be resolved in the next version of the Android SDK. I don't have a specific timeline for when that release will go live, but will update the thread here when I have more info.

We are seeing this crash on a couple of TCL devices
We are still on 3.31.0 and about to update, but we are wondering if the issue has been fixed as I couldn't find any mention on the release notes for 3.32.0 or 3.33.0

Thank you for following up, the fix for this issue is part of the 'com.google.android.tv:tv-ads'. The bug was present in v1.0.0-alpha02, and is fixed in v1.0.0.
IMA v3.31.0 has tv-ads v1.0.0-alpha02 as a dependency, but future IMA versions have updated tv-ads to v1.0.0.
That being said, IMA v3.32.0 was deprecated due to a bug found in that version, so I recommend updating your implementation to v3.33.0 to solve your issue. You can follow this mvnrepository link for more information on what dependencies IMA is using.
