As a Senior Server Infrastructure Engineer on our Demo Technical Services team, you'll design, install, implement, configure, upgrade, and optimize infrastructure, application systems and databases to support Altera's software demo and training environments. You'll play a crucial role in managing technology for these systems and workflows.

- Infrastructure & Environment Management: Establish and maintain virtualized demo/training environments, perform upgrades, and manage assigned tasks to meet functional requirements and customer expectations.
- Customer Focus: Develop direct relationships with internal clients, aligning with their business objectives and ensuring their needs are met.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct reviews, incorporate feedback, and ensure deliverables meet defined quality standards with minimal downtime and defects.
- Technical Support: Provide help desk support for infrastructure, software applications, and database issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with company solutions, pre-release/prototype systems, and third-party products. Improve domain knowledge and streamline processes.
- Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain support materials, including training documents and system specifications. Conduct user-based training and document issues and resolutions.
- Team Contribution: Participate in on-call duties, contribute to team performance metrics, and engage in knowledge transfer to enhance team synergy.
- Programming/Scripting/Automation: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention. Utilize languages such as PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and improve system performance. Produce stable solutions for complex problems.
Academic and professional qualifications:
- Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or relevant technical experience
- 6+ years' experience of utilization and administration of virtual environments (VMWare, Morpheus, Azure, SCVMM, Hyper-V, Citrix, Microsoft RDS, etc.)
- Windows and Linux platform experience
- Strong background in database management – Microsoft SQL, Oracle
- Networking, Active Directory, IIS, file sharing, firewall management
- Scripting / programming experience (strong preference for PowerShell)
- Altera / Veradigm / Allscripts product knowledge or experience, preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills; technology problem solver
- Communication and documentation skills are key to success - ability to track steps and develop procedures, processes and best practices. Keep records of work performed for transition activities. Keeping teammates and leadership appraised of status. Anticipating what leadership needs and providing before requested. Keeping teammates & leadership up-to-date on project status.
